I have changed over to CentOS5 on some of our computers. I had been using Mandriva 2006 and the nut software worked using: driver = newhidups port = auto Using the same version of nut with the same config files on CentOS5, I get the following error output from 'upsdrvctl': Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.0.4 Network UPS Tools: New USB/HID UPS driver 0.28 (2.0.4) No

Can sound be redirected from a remote computer to local computer?
I need to redirect the sound from a remote Centos 5.2 computer to my local Centos 5.2 computer. Both are i386 OS. Searching the web and Centos web site has indicated that it is possible but I have not found any information about how to do it. I am currently using ssh and/or vnc to display the remote computer locally. At this point, the sound is being played on the remote computer only.

Arc/INFO format with R? (fwd)
Hello All, I have used that DCW data at PSU before, and one option (at that time) was to download ascii files with the lat/lon point pairs for each of the polygons for each country. The format was fairly easy to read (into SAS). I just looked at the page again but I was unable to download the ascii files. I don't know if t...

monitor software does not find Belkin UPS
I have upgraded to CentOS5 on our computers. I had been using Mandriva 2006. The problem I am having is that the networkupstools (nut-2.0.4.tar.gz) does not find the UPS device. However, when I had Mandriva 2006 on the same hardware it worked. The device manager on CentOS does show the UPS device. The settings I used in the ups.conf file are: driver = newhidups port = auto Using the same

seqfault during kernel recompile...
I am using CentOS 5 with all updates installed. I have 2 isa ne2000 network cards in my computer. From running make xconfig both isa and ne2000 support needs to be compiled into the kernel instead of making them modules. Is this correct? During the recompile modsign.sh failed with a segfault. In researching, I found an email posted on Redhat that recommended setting the signmodules to 0 in
