Samba on Two networks
...rk on top of my exisiting 10Base-T
network. The 100Base-T network is between a few hosts, but those hosts
are also on the 10Base-T network. Here's a little diagram:

Sysprep joins fail on Samba >= 4.2.0
...trying to do unattended joins.
In case this is of any help, packet-level research using wireshark shows
that the only difference between versions that work and those which
doesn't
is the following:
- samba < 4.2.0 (works): the RPC_NETL DsrGetDcNameEx2 response returns the
DC name field as DCSERVER.DOMAIN.LOCAL and the unattended join process
works OK from that point onwards.
- samba >= 4.2.0 (fails): the DsrGetDcNameEx2 response returns the DC name
field as
DCSERVER and the unattended join process doesn't work. It keeps retrying
that
DsrGetDcNameEx2 request to no avail.

krb5_cc_get_principal failed (No such file or directory)

If I running "kinit administrator@NWTRADERS.COM" I am getting a ticket.
But if I try to run "net ads join -U administrator@NWTRADERS.COM" I am
getting following messages:

Samba4 - Shared folder not showing security tab in windows explorer

Setting up Backup AD DC
hello
out of curiosity as I wanted to achieve this some time before - i.e. to
performing automated backup od samba domain.
now I've tried to use kerberos - for online backup (within script) I
have used:
samba-tool domain backup online --targetdir=${BACKUPDIR}
--server=${DCSERVER} --krb5-ccache=${KRB5CCNAME}
but seems this is not working as the backup process is interruped in the
middle and I am challenged to authenticate:
samba-tool domain backup online --targetdir=/var/spool/backup/
--server=DC1 --krb5-ccache=/tmp/samba-domain.cc

Destination Permissions on Windows XP

Everyone: Read
Local User: Read+Write
I've tried the "-nop" option, but there was no change.
Here is my rsync command line:
rsync -trvzh --stats --progress --delete
--log-file=/cygdrive/c/AliCopyLog.txt dcserver::AliData
/cygdrive/c/hoss/data/
Also, the same issue affects the local log file "AliCopyLog.txt". This
file gets the same permissions as above when created, where I would like
it to have the default permissions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am definitely Unix-challen...

Domain member server not getting updated AD attributes
...do as I'm quite sure
the mistake is on my side.

...ode. I am able to join a TEST domain fine (creating the account with
the DSA.MSC and checking the pre-2000 box then joining the server with
smbpasswd -j TEST -r SERVER).
But when trying to join the domain I really want to use i get the
following message:
