hard links on a samba share from a samba client
...is as follows:
- PDC on a Windows NT
- samba-3.0.5 client
- samba-3.0.5 server (homes)
I use winbindd to authenticate and it is working fine, I can create,
remove and change files without any problems.
The mount command line I'm using is:
mount -t smbfs //10.101.0.231/homes /mnt -o
username=dcoletti,password=XXXXXX,uid=dcoletti
At the server (and client) I set "unix extensions = yes" (eventhought is
the default value) and I also tried "fstype = Samba".
I also tried to do the same thing against an Windows NT with a NTFS
filesystem (it didn't work eighter), that *doesn...

joining an NT PDC, WinNT user privileges
Hi,
I've been looking for this information, but I couldn't find it
anywhere.
I have a samba (2.2.3) on debian (woody) and I mean to configure this
server with winbind so it can authenticate domain users. The PDC is at a
NT server.
My question is is very simple ... what are the *exact* privileges I
need to give the user I use to join the domain? Winbind docs says use

problems using challenge-auth with winbind
...compiled it with the
exact same flags I compiled 2.2.4a-6 and using the very same PDC user,
the smbpasswd won't join the domain (strange, huh?).
Any ideas? Could it be that there are privileges on the PDC that need to
be added to this user?
