Replication not working for remote Domain Controller
Hi, I have three Samba Domain Controllers, two in the LAN local network (dc1 and dc2) and one in a remote network which is accessible from the LAN through a VPN connection (dc4). Every domain controller can reach every other domain controllers, and every type of traffic is permitted by firewalls, they can ping and access to every TCP and UDP ports. Checking the Samba replication I see that the two domain controllers on the local network (dc1 and dc2) are regularly replic...

samba AD database suspected corruption
...corruption: tombstones not being deleted from sam.lbd, ultimately resulting in a huge database, full root disk, samba crashing, we were completely down. We asked the great guys at sernet to help, they did super work, and managed to get us up and running again, including the addition of a fresh DC4. Currently on 4.5.15, we have some strange issues with our samba AD setup, that I feel are remains from these old problems. Specifically: - we cannot transfer fsmo roles between DCs due to LDAP error 50 infufficient access rights - have have high cpu usage acress the DCs, combined with continuou...

Issue with DHCP Updating DNS Records on AD DC
Greetings, I am in the process of replacing my MicroFocus (Novell) eDirectory system with a Samba-based Active Directory system. I've got three domain controllers built, and they seem to be humming along nicely. Server OS is Ubuntu 18.04 patched current. I started off with the Samba 4.7 packages included in the default Ubuntu repository, but have since upgraded to Samba 4.10 using packages

joined computer not appear in all DCs (DC4 not sync with DC3)
Hello, I had posted this in another topic, but because the problem is different, I decided to create a new topic. Conf: - Primary DC/pdc Emulator as DC3 - Second DC as DC4 After an upgrade from schema 45 to 69 in DCs, when adding a computer in the domain and if the domain to respond is DC4 the synchronization for DC3 is not done. I already did several tests that I already knew and also new ones that I found in the wiki, but without success in finding the problem....

Odd behavior since upgrading to 4.9.6
...k and half ago I upgraded from 4.0.12 to 4.9.6. Overall, things are functioning. However, I have come across several strange behaviors and wandered if anyone else has noticed similar behavior on 4.9.6 or has any suggestions of what might be occurring. As background information, I have 3 DCs (dc3, dc4 and dc5) -- all running the same version (4.9.6) and all have the same configuration; dc3 was the original holder of all 7 FSMO roles, but as of last night, they were all transferred to dc4. First off, all the DCs hold steady at different levels of memory utilized. dc3 hovers at about 1.5 GB used...
