ocfs and dbca
...ll nodes mounting the shared disks successfully on the reboot.
I made sure that all three nodes and see, mount, create, manipulate, remove, list, mkdir, rmdir on the shared disk (with is an XP512 and being accessed on the primary channel on the fibre card).
I have tried to create a database using DBCA several times. When I get to the initialization parameters screen to verify that the parameters are correct and click on next DBCA tells me that the mount point is not a valid raw device (for the spfile). I did start up the dbca utility with dbca -datafileDestination /u02/oradata/ .

I think this is one bug of OCFS for IA64 machine. I will ask Colin to
confirm
whether there be available fix or patch for this problem for OCFSv1 on IA64.
Second, it will hang at 37% when we issue DBCA to create database. We found
it hangs when it begin to create redo log files. Also need to ask OCFS
team for
help.
I tried two version of OCFS for IA64. They are 1.0.13-11 and 1.0.11-1. Of
course, we could exclude the possible reason of mismatch between linux
kerenl
and that needed by OCFS drive...

zfs volumes which will be used by oracle data file,as:

Puppet & Oracle Database config management
Afternoon all.
I''ve been reading around on Puppet and Oracle, and have come up with a few
links that suggest how to get Oracle installed and base configured, which
has got me started in the right direction on that.
My next challenge is maintaining Oracle database specific configuration on
the relevant hosts. This contains various elements, such as /etc/oratab,
/etc/oranfstab (as
