All I apologize if this is slightly off topic, but I'm in the process of trying to get NUT working and I've discovered the need for a serial port probe that is native db9 - native db9 (the thought of hanging a probe plus two db9-db25 adapters plus a cable on a UPS bothers me greatly). I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a little gender changer with a buncha LEDs on it. However, every search for "db9/analyzer/probe/breakout/rs232" and any combination thereof has yielded crap results except for one for $40...

    Lately I replaced my 10+-year-old server with a nano-ITX-type one that has USB but not old serial ports.  I connected my FE700VA to DB25-to-9-to-USB cables, but haven't been able to set it up. Apparently my DB9-to-USB cable (Prolific Technology, Inc. Hi list, I've browsed through the wiki pages and finally would like to get some answers from peple who perhaps had used such card. I have the sangoma s508 card. It has no CSU/DSU. It is an ISA card with DB9 and DB25 connectors (for RS232 and V34/X21/EIA interfaces). They claim it is a frame relay and syncronous ppp card. Can I use this card with asterisk in any way but without subscription to a Frame Relay account? Perhaps in similiar manner as T1/E1 between a channel bank and an asterisk server. Or perha...
