Win10 cannot access linux shares
Hi, When I upgraded from Fedora 22 to Fedora 25 my Win10 box lost the ability to connect to shares on the F25 box. The F25 box can still access shares on the Win10 box. F25 is currently running Samba 4.5.13 and I have a simple workgroup setup. Let's call the Win10 box 'fred' and the F25 box 'ethel'. When fred tries to access a share on ethel, I am prompted for username and

Regarding IRQ problems; try googling for "Digital Audio Workstation" or "DAW"
As I'm sure you know, half the trick of googling is knowing what terms to seed the search with. In our case, what we needed was the correct term the audio industry uses to describe PCs used for editing. My wife studied to be an audio engineer a few years ago, and I studied over her shoulder. Learned a bunch of stuff, no doubt forgotten even more. Anyway, the term I was wracking my brain to

Announcing Digium/Asterisk World's Conference Program
Is this replacing Astricon this year? If so it looks like a pretty poor showing in comparison to Astricon Dallas last year. CentOS for musicians?
Hello, still searching but didn't find very precise answers yet, is there a computer-aided musical creation -oriented flavor of CentOS (like the Ubuntu Studio)? Or would it be about gathering stuff from different repos and setting up everything by hand? A repository that would provide low-latency kernel (realtime one?): I've found the CentOS-RT from the CERN + (1)). Specific tools (from

StreamLocal forwarding
Hi folks, (3rd time I am sending this message, none of the other appear to have made it through!) Using "OpenSSH_6.9p1 Ubuntu-2ubuntu0.1, OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015" on the server, "OpenSSH_7.2p2, OpenSSL 1.0.2g 1 Mar 2016" on the client. I am trying to use sshtunnel with StreamLocal forwarding to enable me to connect back to the client's ssh port, without having to

FLAC suddenly compresses more - why?
Hello Rene, If you want to be sure that you get no information loss, I suggest a very simple test. Recover your WAV file from any of the FLAC files you mentioned in your e-mail. If this WAV file is bit-by-bit identical to the input WAV file, then you have no information loss. Also, it is important to take into account that the compression ratio is highly dependent on the encoded wav file. If you

recording current_user
Hi, Another noob here I am afraid! I have a questuin about the current_user method that comes with AAA. I have AAA set up and working fine and if i put <%= self.current_user.login %> into a view it shows the login name as expected on the page. What I cant work out is how to record this into the database when the user completes a form. My app so far only has two models.

Traktion
This one may well be the first fully capable audio/midi DAW program to work in both Windows and Linux. This is because it is not based on Microsoft's framework. I got the freebie while this offer was around. Version 2 is supposed to come out soon. (I presently use Cakewalk Home Studio--Sonar's not so little sister and a lot of bang for the buck. I have gotten used to drawing

Dynamic Remote Port forward?
Hi folks, I'm wondering if it is possible to set up a dynamic port forward (i.e. socks proxy), where the listening socket is actually on the server rather than the client as is currently the case for -D ? A possible use case is providing a deeply firewalled box with an outbound SOCKS proxy, but only while an inbound ssh connection is active. Or, in my particular case, I have many routers
