Preventing laptop from sleeping when lid closed?
How can I prevent the laptop from sleeping when the lid is closed. I tried messing with the settings in gnome-power-preferences but that doesn't seem to prevent it when no one is logged in. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave

Unfortunately, this is only for RHEL/CentOS 7, but it can also be found at: https://www.softwarecollections.org/en/scls/rhscl/devtoolset-3/ On Tue, Jan 13, 2015 at 1:39 AM, wwp <subscript at free.fr> wrote: > > On Tue, 13 Jan 2015 09:18:27 +0100 wwp <subscript at free.fr> wrote: > > > I could find the 1.1 and 2 repos gently provided by Tru Huynh, but quid > > of

qemu-kvm package?
I just did a clean net install of CentOS 6.4 and when I run virt-manager it says that qemu-kvm is missing, but when I try to install it with yum it says that there isn't a package with that name. Is something wrong with my configuration? Or what is causing this package to appear as not available? Thanks, Dave

CentOS on Lenovo G50-30?
I just got a Lenovo G50-30 and tried loading the CentOS 7 LiveCD on it. It stops on a gray screen with a flashing cursor. I tried waiting for a while and pressing keys, but nothing seemed to happen. I then tried the CentOS 6.5 LiveCD (I couldn't find a LiveCD for 6.6) and it worked just fine. I would like to be able to use CentOS 7, so is there any way for me to get access to the logs or any

ssh connections not closing when Qt application is opened?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1086971 I have been able to reproduce the above issue on my home network and at work, but RedHat is claiming it is not a bug, so can some people on this list give it a try and see if they can reproduce it? Thanks, Dave

Gnome rebase in 7.2?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1109302 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1174442 >From those two bugzillas it looks like Gnome is going to be rebased in 7.2. I understand that that's a "RHEL thing" but does anyone here have any insight to what this will mean. Will applications have to rebuilt? Or what other implications are there? Thanks, Dave

Best configuration for encrypted software RAID 1?
I'm setting up a computer with CentOS 6.4 and a mirrored software RAID. I would like it to be encrypted so I was wondering what the best configuration is. The only info I could find is http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-docs/2008-October/001912.html but it appears to be a bit old and the info on the wiki ( http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/EncryptTmpSwapHome ) doesn't seem to address

Proper method to report no input on unlock screen?
I'm using 32-bit CentOS 6.4 and having an issue with not being able to type any input on the unlock screen when resuming from sleep while docked on a Thinkpad T60. It's basically appears to be the same issue as reported here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=594696 What's the proper way to handle this? Do I open a bug in the CentOS repo? Or do I open a bugzilla with

Permissions of mercurial-hgk?
I just installed mercurial-hgk on CentOS 6.4 x86 and the permissions were set so that it couldn't be run by a non-root user. The two files that had incorrect permissions were: /usr/libexec/mercurial/ /usr/libexec/mercurial/hgk Is that an issue with CentOS? Or is it an issue that I should open a bugzilla against RHEL for? Thanks, Dave

3D Acceleration with Matrox MGA G200EH?
I'm running on a machine with a Matrox MGA G200EH but it doesn't appear that the 3D acceleration is being used (for example Google Earth lists the driver as being Mesa). Is there an additional driver that I need to install to enable the 3D acceleration functionality? Or something else I need to do? Thanks, Dave
