this small discrepancy with all the other xiph lists can be fixed for
aesthetic and procmail reasons ? :)
(This mail is just as much a test for seeing if my changed procmail
catches this, btw)
Thanks

The spec.py file seems to say that aspect ratio "is not used yet".
I'm a bit confused, and I'm trying to add proper aspect ratio support to
GStreamer at the moment. What should I be doing ?

Theora file extension
Theora and Vorbis both uses same extension .ogg. I know ogg is a
container, just like avi. But in my opinion video and audio files should
have different extensions (using .ogv can be a nice idea).
To a media player it doesn't matter what extension a file uses, but to a
human who does a ls in a directory full of media files having different
extensions will help a lot. I know one can use file

I always assumed it was List-ID, but a lot of lists have changed the

Incidentally, if the need is there I'm willing to help package the new

Jumpy Video
Hi!
I tried two theora experiments lately... One encoding a Quicktime MOV
file using ffmpeg2theora and one using Thoggen.
Both times I had a very jumpy result... The thoggen-encoded DVD would
'jump' every half second or so, as if there was a slight, perhaps 20ms
pause. Audio would remain synced though.
The quicktime file would jump even more, being reduced to looking like a
crisp 2fps

...Also, for the fedora.us people - what should we do when wanting to
provide theora to pre-FC2 ? Theora requires a 1.1 version of ogg - does
that mean that everything we build for FC1 and older that wants to use
theora has to go in patches ?
Thanks,

resamples audio like crazy till half and twice the pitch :) I'm assuming
this could be caused by our stream not always starting with a keyframe

Are there other players I can try on Win2k that are rumored to play

libreadanything ?
Is there a library that decodes any file format ? I need a
lib to decode ogg-vorbis (of course) and also wavs, mp3s,
flac... Using several different libs is not a good
solution. I don't like to use a lot of different APIs
to do the same thing with different file formats.

pkg-config problem
Hi, I tried to build libvorbis today but had a little problem.
When running configure it would fail with these errors:
./configure: line 19431: syntax error near unexpected token `OGG,'
./configure: line 19431: ` PKG_CHECK_MODULES(OGG, ogg >= 1.0,
HAVE_OGG=yes, HAVE_OGG=no)'
I had to set ACLOCAL_FLAGS to "-I /usr/local/share/aclocal" and rerun
autogen.sh in order for it to
