Date-Time-Stamp input method for user-specific formats
...ue in the column contains both date and time e.g. "01/09/2009 00:00:01". The goal is to read it into R as an appropriate data type, where for example date arithmetic can be performed. As far as I can tell, the most appropriate such data type is POSIXct. The trick then is to read in the datetimestamps in the data as this type. PROBLEM: POSIXct defaults to a text representation almost but not quite like my received data. The main difference is that the POSIXct date part is in reverse order, e.g. "2009-09-01". It is possible to define a different format where date and time parts look...

Error in formatDL(nm, txt, indent = max(nchar(nm, "w")) + 3)
This error can arise when getOption("width") is too small. 80 seems to be the limit for me with R-3.3.2 on Windows. Curious treatment of entities in xmlTreeParse
Hello! I am not experienced enough to know whether I have found a bug or whether I am just ignorant. I have been trying to use the tm package to read in material from RSS 2.0 feeds, which has required grappling with writing a reader for that flavour of XML. I get an error - "Error : 1: EntityRef: expecting ';' - which I think I've tracked down. The feed being processed is from

Error in formatDL(nm, txt, indent = max(nchar(nm, "w")) + 3)
It happens in the fda package because some of the headers are longer than typical (e.g., "Repository/R-Forge/DateTimeStamp") and formatDL dies if the indent argument is too large compared to the width argument. It might be nice to change formatDL so it never gave such an error, but did something reasonable when the 'indent' argument was too big. Changing if (indent >

Problem with Snowball & RWeka
Dear Forum, when I try to use SnowballStemmer() I get the following error message: "Could not initialize the GenericPropertiesCreator. This exception was produced: java.lang.NullPointerException" It seems to have something to do with either Snowball or RWeka, however I can't figure out, what to do myself. If you could spend 5 minutes of your valuable time, to help me or give me a
