[LLVMdev] On DataExtractor isValidOffset* interface
Hi Ben, Me and David were discussing ways to use DataExtractor recently and I found one thing in the comments that seems wrong. >From include/llvm/Support/DataExtractor.h: 336 /// Test the validity of \a offset. 337 /// 338 /// @return 339 /// \b true if \a offset is a valid offset into the data in this 340 /// object, \b false otherwise. 341 bool isValidOffset(uint32_t

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] basic reading reloc visitor for x86_64 ELF
For llvm-dwarfdump we need to handle relocations inside the debug info sections in order to successfully dump the dwarf info including strings. Nick sent out a partial patch that did this not too long ago and I've taken it and gone in a bit of a different direction, but kept the same basic architecture. In place of applying the relocations to the data we've read from disk I'm keeping

lldb -c corefile get segmentation fault on centos7
Hi, I build llvm+clang+lldb 3.7 successfully on centos7, and lldb -p PID works pretty well. However when I tried lldb -c corefile executable_bin, lldb itself core dumpped. Attached the following core info which is debugged by gdb: [root at dn-cn-controller-4fbd4 data1]# lldb -c a.corefile /usr/local/myproject/bin/cnode *(lldb) target create "/usr/local/myproject/bin/cnode" --core

DWARF debug line error handling changes

I think this would be great. In fact, I was getting ready to propose something like that myself. :) FWIW, lldb DataExtractors already support this kind of slicing. pl

Building llvm with clang and lld on arm and the llvm arm backend relocation on position independent code
At a guess that looks like your llvm and lld checkouts are not quite in synch. It will be worth updating llvm and lld to top of trunk. I've rebased the consolidated patch https://reviews.llvm.org/D34634 this morning, it might be worth trying that if you are seeing problems. RFC: Adding llvm::ThinStream
Some background: A while back while working on code to read / write PDB files, I came up with Yet Another Stream Abstraction. Note that LLVM already has a few. Off the top of my head, theres: 1) `MemoryBuffer` and its associated class hierarchy 2) `raw_ostream` and it's associated classes. 3) `DataExtractor` which is used for reading from a StringRef. There's probably more, and

Building llvm with clang and lld on arm and the llvm arm backend relocation on position independent code
The bottom of the bug has the revision numbers (e.g. D34035). That one corresponds to e.g. https://reviews.llvm.org/D34035 There's also https://reviews.llvm.org/D34634 which contains all of Peter's patches, but it's not going to rebase cleanly once the individual patches start going in. LLVM 3.9.1 build race?
Hi Folks, I am building LLVM 3.9.1 using the Yocto build system for a cross build. The compiled bins/libs work totally fine on the target machine however there seems to be an intermittent race condition during the build which causes a build failure. On the failed builds I usually see things being linking/compiling twice e.g. Linking CXX static library ../libLLVMSupport.a cd

RFC: Adding llvm::ThinStream
Haven't got to this but would like to take a look/review it before it goes in. *skimming over some of the description* Sounds like 'stream' might not be the right terminology - since they return pointers into data that (I think) remains valid for the life of the stream? (this also makes me wonder a bit about memory usage if the cross-block operation is used a lot (causing

DWARF debug line error handling changes
Hi all, Since December, I've made several changes to the DWARF debug line parser to improve its error handling. Some examples include removing redundant error checks[1] and making address size mismatches non-fatal to parsing[2], with several more about to land or being planned. David Blaikie recommended I post something to give a bit more context to these changes. I am a member of Sony's
