Darkstat
Hi all,
please, tell me about security of Darkstat. Is it good idea to install it on
firewall/gateway ?
I'd like to measure our company traffic, but I do not have Apache running on
the gateway. How could I redirect Darkstat's output to web-server inside
company ?
Or is there some other tool, which can measure in/out traffic and send

Blocked host getting through
...net:x.x.x.x/21 - - -
DROP $FW net:x.x.x.x/22 - - -
blackist
#ADDRESS/SUBNET PROTOCOL PORT OPTIONS
x.x.x.x/21 - - src,dst
x.x.x.x/22 - - src,dst
I see no record of the host in the logs. App darkstat indicates that
host is sending traffic on random udp ports and it shows when last the
host connected and the amount of traffic. This is a little puzzling. Is
the something I am overlooking.
Regards
/K

support SNMP so I cannot use MRTG to poll this equipment...

Linux as T1 router
Hello All,
I am thinking about using a linux server as a T1 router. I have searched
the list, but have not found a discussion about what I''m trying to do. I
have a situation where the Cisco router I''m using will not handle the
additional bandwidth I added recently. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the
Cisco unit that will. I would like to know if anyone has successfully done

Suggestions/Pointers on where to begin my search for a solution?
Hi-
I''m working in the IT department of a small liberal arts university-- we''re
getting *massacred* by P2P traffic.
Informal testing/probing indicates that about 60% of our traffic from the
dorms was P2P-- we''ve taken the initial step of hardlimiting the dorms to no
more than 40% of outgoing university bandwidth. Also, we''ve blocked the
