Puppet on OpenSuSE & SLES
Hi, I''m a big fan of Puppet and managed to have my company accept it. However, I''m having issues deploying it (I''m used to the debian version which works perfectly out of the box) : - There doesn''t seem to be an official repository for Suse (I''ve seen it mentionned in the bugtracker but yum.puppetlabs.com doesn''t contain SUSE packages). -

...rom our provider, which I've plugged into the DHCP config file pointing out to the external world. What, if any benefits, would I receive if I were to set up the Samba server to include DNS support? But then again, is this even a question I should be asking here! LOL thanks in advance! randomForest and missing data
.... I realize this question is very specific to randomForest, as opposed to R in general, but any comments are appreciated. I suppose I am looking for someone to say "It's not appropriate, and here's why ..." or "Good idea. Please implement and post your code." Thanks, Darin England, Senior Scientist Ingenix

R Commander question
...rnoon New to R ... new to the list. I have installed R Commander 1.2-9 and it functions perfectly. I would, however, like to upgrade my Rcmdr to version 1.3-15 ... but I can't seem to shake the 1.2 version. Do you have any tips on how to upgrade? [Announce] Puppet Request Tracker Module
This is a cross-list post. I''d like to announce the initial release of a puppet request-tracker module, darin-rt, for managing Request Tracker. The module will install request-tracker and database packages, install request-tracker extensions (if packages are available in the repo), and create basic request-tracker queues. This is also a request for help in extending the module to support more operating sy...

One domain w/ multiple subnets. Do a "join" for each subnet?
...at we run it from. So my question is...do we need to run the join (smbpasswd) from a machine that's on each different subnet that we want to hit the shares from??? I didn't know if this is how it's done since all the subnets are on the same domain. Thanks for any suggestions. Having trouble getting "join" to work successfully
...to join again, we get the same msg. I've been through the whole /docs/DIAGNOSIS.txt and the only test that fails is #8 (net view \\BIGSERVER) and I'm presuming that's because the join hasn't worked correctly. Can anyone help me out? Configuring PAM
...eir Workgroup...we need to bypass any authentication at the AIX level. From the limited documentation (PAM-authenication-and-Samba.html) , it almost looks like PAM will accomplish this task. Is anyone using PAM for this reason, and if so, is there more detailed documentation on PAM? Thank you.
