Puppet on OpenSuSE & SLES
Hi,
I''m a big fan of Puppet and managed to have my company accept it.
However, I''m having issues deploying it (I''m used to the debian version
which works perfectly out of the box) :
- There doesn''t seem to be an official repository for Suse (I''ve seen it
mentionned in the bugtracker but yum.puppetlabs.com doesn''t contain SUSE
packages).

...least. In the event of an outage take down
group4 after 5 minutes, group3 after 10 minutes, group2 after 15, and
finally group4 after 20.
I've only been using NUT for a few days but I'm assuming I can
accomplish this with a combination multiple systems, upssched events.
Thanks!

thanks in advance!

Programming Workshops
...enerally put the onus on the user to learn
programming techniques?
Are the workshops generally offered for the masses or is there one-on-one
training available?
Does one "go to" R for programming training ... or do R workshops travel
around the country?
Thanks for your time.

randomForest and missing data
....
I realize this question is very specific to randomForest, as opposed
to R in general, but any comments are appreciated. I suppose I am
looking for someone to say "It's not appropriate, and here's why
..." or "Good idea. Please implement and post your code."

R Commander question
...rnoon
New to R ... new to the list.
I have installed R Commander 1.2-9 and it functions perfectly. I would,
however, like to upgrade my Rcmdr to version 1.3-15 ... but I can't seem to
shake the 1.2 version. Do you have any tips on how to upgrade?
Thanks for your time and consideration

[Announce] Puppet Request Tracker Module
This is a cross-list post.
I''d like to announce the initial release of a puppet request-tracker
module, darin-rt, for managing Request Tracker. The module will
install request-tracker and database packages, install request-tracker
extensions (if packages are available in the repo), and create basic
request-tracker queues.
This is also a request for help in extending the module to support

To sum it up, I am aiming to build an Active Directory toolset that can

importing timestamp data into R
...08/04 12:20:00 ]
[2006/08/04 12:02:00 ],[2006/08/04 14:20:00 ]
I can get them into R but I cannot figure out how to convert them into
something R will recognize as a date/time. I have tried using "as.Date",
strptime, and chron. Any help would be appreciated?
best,

puppet-module-tool question
...puppet face and merged into puppet core. Does this make puppet-module
obsolete or does it still need to be installed? I''m running puppet
2.7.9 but this "face" is not included so obviously it''s not available.
Can someone provide a little clarification please.

One domain w/ multiple subnets. Do a "join" for each subnet?
...at we
run it from.
So my question is...do we need to run the join (smbpasswd) from a machine
that's on each different subnet that we want to hit the shares from??? I
didn't know if this is how it's done since all the subnets are on the same
domain. Thanks for any suggestions.

can do a few things like only using SMB3 and strong encryption.

Having trouble getting "join" to work successfully

again, we get the same msg.
I've been through the whole /docs/DIAGNOSIS.txt and the only test that
fails is #8 (net view \\BIGSERVER) and I'm presuming that's because the
join hasn't worked correctly. Can anyone help me out? I would certainly
appreciate it. Thanks.
