Remove single entries
Dear Community,
I have a data set with two columns, bird number and mass. Individual birds
were captured 1-13 times and weighed each time. I would like to remove
those individuals that were captured only once, so that I can assess mass
variability per bird. I¹ve tried many approaches with no success. Can
anyone recommend a way to remove individuals that were captured only once?
Thanks,
Ray

Generating permutations that always include one specific element
Dear R community,
I am trying to create a matrix of permutations of a vector:
bands <- c("AL", "B", "DB", "DG", "G", "K", "LB", "LG", "MG", "O", "P",
"PI", "PK", "PU", "R", "V", "W", "Y")
Each permutation must be 4

Remove rows in a matrix that match rows in another matrix
Dear R Community,
The following seems like a simple problem, but I''ve been stuck on it for
some time, with no luck using matching or subsetting functions. I''m trying
to remove the rows from a large matrix that match rows in another large
matrix. A (small scale) example:
col1<-c("A", "B", "C", "D")
col2<-c("A",

symbol problems with FRESH install
Hello,
I installed wine 20010112 from source and can't get it to work. I had an
old version on before, but I COMPLETELY removed it before I started. I'm
sure -- I checked for libkernel32.so and others, and even took away the
.wine directory. Anyway, so now I am getting this undefined symbol
message:

Combining means
Hi volunteer statisticians,
I want to combine the stdev of 6 populations of means for two different
treatments and there seem to be many methods for doing so.
It is QPCR data consisting of 3 technical replicates building one mean
and 6 biological samples in two treatment groups. Now as an overview I
just assumed each value to be a replicate it self within each of the two
treatments and

dovecot-lda and sendmail.
I'm trying to use dovecot-lda with sieve support using RC6 and sendmail.
I followed the instructions at http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA but could not
get them to work with sendmail.
Could anybody help? Anybody have an example sendmail macro(s) and/or
working sendmail config?

Asterisk & 3com nbx 100 support
Does anybody know if the 3com NBX 100 phones will work with
Asterisk? The phones require a boot image to be sent either through
layer2 or layer3 before they will function properly after being powered
on each time.
Thanks.

Transfering to voicemail problem with 1.2beta
Phone: Cisco 7960
I tried the following in my extensions.conf:
exten => _*1XX,1,Voicemail(u${EXTEN:1})
exten => _*1XX,2,Hangup
When I pick up the phone and dial *120 (my extension is 120) it doesn't go
through, and says Reorder. For some reason, I don't think asterisk is
picking up the asterisk digit.
Anybody know how I can make this work using *<EXT>?
Thanks.

Any suggestion?

swat problem with open files
Not sure when this started happening, but we first noticed it about 3
months ago. We have two seperate Samba servers, both having the same
problem when using swat. Both are running 3.0.21a.
When clicking on Status after logging into to swat, the Open Files
section isn't displaying properly. Each process says DENY_DOS under
Sharing, and under File, each process says A[] (The letter A and
