New to Wine
...see any menu icons for it. I don't know how to
start using it. Is there a simple and good guide for installing apps and
using Wine?
Also is there any way to change the encoding inside the bottle? I have lots of
Chinese apps but the Chinese doesn't display properly which puts a bit of a
damper on things....

The fact that AESGCM_CIPHER_MODES expands to "" when compiled against
versions of openssl which lack EVPGCM may put a damper in that, but
perhaps it still seems better to use whichever AEADs are available
whenever they are available.

DNS not working?
Can''t figure this one out:
I''ve been running shorewall 1.4.10 for many months now on a Fedora Core
1 machine.
Just finished setting up a new machine (Fedora Core 2) with shorewall

Shorewall startup goes thru fine.

How do I obtain the current active path of a function that's being called?
Hi all,
How do I obtain the current active path of a function that's being called?
That's to say, I have several source files and they all contain definition
of function A.
I would like to figure out which function A and from which file is the one
that's being called and is currently active?
Thanks a lot!

FULLTEXT search in MySQL on rails
I tried adding a FULLTEXT search index to a table of mine in MySQL,
only to discover that the InnoDB table format doesn''t seem to support
this feature. Switching to the MyISAM table type seemed to work, but
I seem to have some recollection that ActiveRecord transactions aren''t
fully atomic on MyISAM tables. Is this true or am I just remembering
wrong? If so, does anyone have

Having Samba integrate/replace existing mixed Unix/Windows network
I've recently inherited a two-headed monster of a network and would like to
see what Samba can do for me to help clean up the situation. Due to
bias/preference of the past administrator, who favored Unix, when it came
time to introduce Windows machines to our department, he basically built a
parallel network (physically and logically), and let a graduate student
manage the Windows

Cheap ZFS homeserver.
So after toying around with some stuff a few months back I got bogged down and set this project aside for a while. Time to revisit. <BR><BR>
Looking around there still is not a good "these cards/motherboards" work list. the HCL is hardly ever updated, and its far more geared towards business use than hobbyist/home use. So bearing all of that in mind I will need the
