Console/dsp, makes me sound like a Dalek
I need to set up the sound card of a server to use in an overhead paging system, as normal I am testing this on my home machine first (which has slightly different Hardware). I'm using chan_alsa with the Intel HD Audio driver on an Intel 82801G (ICH7 Family) sound card. I am running Asterisk 1.4.17 and have a fully loaded TDM400P as a timing source. When calling console/dsp (using

icecast 2 testing
hello, could someone test the my icecast 2 server? there should be a stream at http://real.radiostudio.org:8000/vorbis, but I'm not able to listen to it. I don't know if the problem in winamp or in icecast or in my streaming application. You could also send a stream to it, it's the default icecast password. I would be very happy if someone could test it :)))))) mörk --- >8 ----

Diagnosing poor call quality
Greetings list, We have an issue with call quality at 2 sites where the users (4 Elmeg IP290s at one site, 2 SPA942s at the other) do not have an asterisk box on-site. Each site has an 8mb down/448k up ADSL connection and the phones connect via SIP to an asterisk box in a datacentre using g729. The asterisk box in the datacentre connects to our other asterisk boxes providing pstn connectivity

Vorbis Encoding Problems
I downloaded all the Beta 4 libraries/tools yesterday and compiled them - everything went fine. ogg123 works fine - it plays files off the website. So does the XMMS plugin (I just built XMMS and had it build the vorbis plugin that it came with) oggenc seems to work fine, in that all of its output looks normal: [ttyp3@dalek:tear-require-0.2.0/CDDB_get-1.4 @00:39] oggenc track03.cdda.wav

Star Wars Echo Sound
We have a location that is having a really odd issue. We have a sangoma POTs card. We are running software echo cancellation with the card (through asterisk) to try to eliminate some major echoing problems. I've turned on both EC and echotrain, which seemed to have gotten rid of the echo for the most part. However, we are now running into an issue where the outside caller hears a star wars

Vorbis for low bitrate speech (10-20kbps)
Hi, (this is my first post here) A previous thread, starting Date: Tue 19 Nov 2002 - 06:09:56 EST "[vorbis] need speech and music in one" http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/200211/0142.html expressed needs similar to mine, to encode a lengthy speech at low bitrate. I did some tests initially in September then concluded in December, and I was surprised to find Vorbis to be the best

CyberPower 1250AVR UPS. Anybody got one?
Hi, I have a Linux box running Gentoo. I have nut installed and sort of running. It doesn't seem to shutdown though. This is what I would like to have happen mostly because I know our power situation here. I would like for when the power fails, it waits about 15 minutes then starts the shutdown process. No need to wait until the battery is low and all that stuff. My reason for this is
