FXS - Don't want a Dailtone
Does anyone know of a way to make a standard analog phone plugged into an
FXS port do something other than get a dialtone when you pick it up? For
example, if the phone should automatically ring someone or play a greeting
when picked up without having to enter an extension?

IAXy - no dailtone
I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on
the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no
ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I
have it setup correctly. When I give the iaxprov command I get this:
#iaxyprov 192.168.1.90 iaxy.conf

Asterisk, she no hang uppa the phone!
...orn fingered to my satisfaction.
Today I began working on the other side to make asterisk do things like place
an outgoing call to PSTN and route an incoming call from PSTN.
I'm using a TDM11B with a single fxs and a single fxo. My analog handset is
plugged into the port that gives me the dailtone (stil can't keep it straight
if that's fxo or fxs, but I get a dialtone and can call extensions corn
fingered in extensions.conf)
But when I dial 9NXXXXXX I see this on the console:
-- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1'
-- Called 4/2234791
-- Zap/4-1 answered Zap/1...

Questions... connecting Asterisk to the World
Greetings,
asterisk list and community,
I have a problem in how our telefon switch (Siemens HiCOM)
"talks" with my new configured Asterisk server (V.11.18.0)
without my Asterisks server in the middle....
<phone> <--> Siemens HiCOM <-ISDN-> NTBA <-...-> PBX Telekom
A phone connected to the switch requests an "Outgoing" line
by dialing "0".
