Asterisk 1.6.1 and dahdichanname = no
I am using FreePBX with Asterisk 1.4 and i wanted to upgrade to Asterisk
1.6.1.
As FreePBX only supports ZAP naming i set dahdichanname = no in my
asterisk.conf.
However, after installation the console was still merrily chattering about
incoming calls on DAHDI channels and nothing happened because all the
ZAP stuff was ignored.
Are all Asterisk versions (1.6.0, 1.6.1 as well as the soon to be released
1.6.2) able to deal wit...

TE410P alarms stay RED with 1.4.22
Hi,
I tried "upgrading" from debian's 1.4.21.2 package to vanilla 1.4.22 but
then my TE410P alarms stay RED and no zap channels can be created, even
if they are correctly listed by "zap show channels". I tried adding
"dahdichanname = no" to asterisk.conf's [options] to no effect.
Going back to 1.4.21.2 brings my alarms back to OK.
This is with zaptel 1.4.12.1.

meetme dahdi and zaptel
...ms to not be able to find a zap channel for conferencing.
We use voice introductions in our conference bridge and it seems to break
that feature. The error from the console is....
# app_meetme.c:2593 find_conf: No Zap channel available for conference, user
introduction disabled
I've added...
dahdichanname=no
to /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf
My thought was that would allow Asterisk to use Dahdi just as if it was ZAP.

...(see below). Could the problem be that I didn't remove the Zaptel
libraries prior to compiling Asterisk? If that's the case I should be
able to rerun the ./configure without the zaptel libs and see if that
fixes it. I'm just not sure what it checks for though. I did set the
dahdichanname=3Dno in the asterisk.conf if that makes any difference. It
seemed to in calling the channel in the dialplan but didn't seem to
effect the meetme app.<br>
