No --delete-after?
...et --delete to work, but I'd prefer to delete files only on a
successful transfer, to ensure that the end-user has a working collection of
files, no matter what release. For some reason, --delete-after does nothing
for me, even as administrator on the Win2k box that's acting as a client.

Strict Mode for Client?
...ndows as the sole member of the
administrators group, something is still awry. If I set the file
permissions so that I can access it from within my Cygwin bash shell, rsync
complains that it's world readable. The only way it doesn't complain about
that is if it can't read it at all.

rsync *Still* Copying All Files?
...nto the local box.
I can't figure this out. I don't know if rsync-for-cygwin's algorithm for
determining file differences is lacking somehow, or if something about this
data is tricking rsync into thinking changes have occurred, or if I'm just
doing something dumb.
Any ideas?

STDERR vs STDOUT?
...s the command I'm using:
./rsync.exe -a -c -v -t username@10.10.10.1::whatever /cygdrive/c/stuff >
success.log 2>error.log
I can't claim mastery over file descriptors, but is this expected behavior?
At the moment, I'm at a loss as to how to capture errors to their own file.

Size Limit in rsyncd.conf File?
...ly, whether or not there is a limit, is it possible to do some
sort of file-include for the auth users field, instead of enumerating
every account? It would make it much cleaner to maintain to simply
refer to an external file which just had a list of the accounts I want
to give access to...

Win2K -> Win2K rsync
Has anybody out there set up a rsync environment that allows mirroring
of files between two Windows 2000 servers?

Change one file, and they all get sent!
Hi,
Just starting out with rsync, and I think I might be missing a
fundamental point of how it works.
Scenario:
I start an rsync daemon on host A, and define a module 'test' on the
rsyncd.conf file. 'test' is essentially my home directory on host A
I then sign on to host B and issue
rsync --progress --recursive --links --stats arthur::test/ /var/tmp/haggis

Error in rsync that I don't understand..
[I wish the list archives were searchable, this most likely is a repeat
question]
We have a set of cron jobs that do regular rsyncs mirroring two trees. This
has been pretty stable. Over the weekend, almost all of them broke with this
message:
rresvport: bind: Permission denied
(15728) Error reading 4 bytes : EOF
Under what conditions does this error occur? It looks like it couldn't
bind
