Dovecot and Mulberry
...his problems. Should I blame Dovecot or Mulberry?
Anyone one with experience with dovecot (or any other imap-server that
supports Maildirs)?

Mulberry problem
...when manipulating embedded rfc822 messages,
and the analysis comes down to the fact that a FETCH BODY[2] command
returns the same thing as FETCH BODY[2.1]. Both return just the text of the
embedded message, whereas FETCH BODY[2] should return everything including
the headers (this is what Cyrus Daboo came up with after looking at the
Mulberry log).
I'm not sure exactly what version of Dovecot I'm running, it's what comes
with SME Server 6.0. Has this by any chance been fixed?
I have another Mulberry problem which might be related, but I'll save that
for another post :)

Cannot access a file with Mulberry from a dovecot server if the mail does not end with a newline character.
I use Mulberry 3.1.6 on Windows to read my mails with dovecot 0.99.12
Solaris 9. There are some mail which I cannot read. When I try to open
such a mail, dovecot quits and restarts (I can see that with ps,
nothing is logged). The Mulberry log just looks like this:

The major feature is that it works with Akonadi, or more specifically the
Kolab backend thereof, while being dovecot-2.0 compatible.
The module consists of 3 plugins, two IMAP frontends and one backend:
* "imap-annotatemore" is a partial implementation of draft-daboo-imap-
annotatemore-08 (early predecessor to RFC 5464), based on work by Bernhard
Herzog (Intevation GmbH). The sole intention is to support Kolab, not to
strictly implement the draft.
* "imap-metadata" is a complete implementation of RFC 5464. Kolab clients do
not (yet) use these comm...

Thinking Outside the Box - Extending IMAP
Here's some thoughts I'd like to throw out there. I know it's not
standard IMAP protocol but someone has to try new ideas first and I want
to see what people (Timo) think of this.
IMAP establishes a connection between the client and the server.
Wouldn't it be great if it could be a conduit to let custom Thunderbird
plugins talk to custom server application over the IMAP
