DAHDI tor2 Trouble on Intel Atom (D510) ?
Greetings,
I have a quad port Tormenta 2 PCI card (uses the tor2 driver), which I have
been successfully using for some time on an older, power-hungry Intel
machine. I recently moved it to a newer machine with an Intel Atom D510 CPU
in an effort to save on energy costs, but I cannot seem to get it to work
there.
Both machines are running Ubuntu 13.10 x64, with DAHDI support coming from
the Ubuntu 'dahdi', 'dahdi-dkms', and 'dahdi-linux' packages, versions
1:2.7.0-1ubuntu1, 1:2.5.0.1+dfsg-1ubuntu3,...

Yes it is a dimensioning question! Atom CPU
I am looking for pros and cons on the Intel Atom cpu. Has anybody been using
these in production? I am looking at an Atom D510 (dual core 1.6GHz, 1M cache)
to run maybe 25 to 30 extensions, 4 or 5 calls at once(maybe as high as 7
simultaneous calls), g729 all the way through except voicemail will be wav
format for email purposes(requirement). I will be tying 3 of these together to
route calls between different offices...

release of 5.5? (filesystem troubles)
hi guys,
is there an estimate when centos 5.5 will be released?
I'm sitting on needles here, because since I moved my 4*1.5TB raid5
from an asus to an intel D510 mainboard I encounter bug the described
here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=512552
short version: running xfs on top of a raid5 under heavy load causes
corrupted data to be read and the filesystem shutting down
occasionally.
version 5.5 should solve this problem. if 5.5 is just a f...

CentOS-5 Hardware Probe
I installed CentOS-5 on a test machine, a P4 1.8 Ghz Compaq Evo D510
series. This was a clean install onto a new disk drive and everything
went well. After updating with YUM and installing Postgresql, Rails for
Ruby, Firefox-2 and Thunderbird I shutdown and restarted the system
several times without incident.
I then pulled the CD-ROM and replaced it with an LG-DV...

mirror writes 10x slower than individual writes
I have an odd setup at present, because I''m testing while still building my machine.
It''s an Intel Atom D510 mobo running snv_134 2GB RAM with 2 SATA drives (AHCI):
1: Samsung 250GB old laptop drive
2: WD Green 1.5TB drive (idle3 turned off)
Ultimately, it will be a time machine backup for my Mac laptop. So I have installed Netatalk 2.1.1 which is working great.
Read performance from the mirror, via gig...

Trouble with X and vnc-4.0-8.1.i386 on Centos 4.4
...e recently migrated from an old, RedHat Linux 9 - based system (Aurox
9.2) to Centos 4.4.
I am having trouble with vnc causing X unusable until reboot.
By unusable I mean that X screen is either blank or blinking and moving, which
is not cured by X restart until reboot.
My system is:
Compaq EVO D510 SFF
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz
RAM: 256 MB
Video: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [VGA])

Firewall/Gateway Hardware Question
I've given up on getting the other machine to work so I'm looking at
building a new one.
The machine will be a firewall/gateway running NAT, Web Proxy with
Dansguardian, DHCP, DNS, NTP and VPN (~6 clients).
I read so much about VPN encryption and the processor needs, now I am unsure
if this will work.
I can get this for AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core
