[Flac-users] Re: CD archival best practices?
...a CD image. Why don't you submit to the sourceforge feature request queue as a patch? That way it will be there for anyone who wants to hack on it. Although maybe this kind of stuff really wants to be added to flac-tools. Is anyone still working on that project? cjs -- Curt Sampson <cjs@cynic.net> +81 90 7737 2974 http://www.netbsd.org Don't you know, in this new Dark Age, we're all light. --XTC

[Flac-users] Verify Failures
So I'm getting errors like the appended one for about one out of every four CDs I encode. If I delete the half-created flac file and try again, it works the second time. Is flac non-deterministic? Is Enum safe from spammers?
Just been contacted by a UK Enum registrar looking for ITSPs to become resellers of their Enum registration systems ... Is anyone using Enum? Does anyone (other than cynical old me) think that Enum is a spammers best friend? Has anyone received a spam VoIP call yet? (ie. one placed directly over the Internet aimed at a SIP URI to a PBX which allows anonymous incoming calls?) I can see that Enum is good to provide another way round the PSTN, but at the same time...

[Flac-users] Re: CD archival best practices?
...lly ought to be able to store all of cdrdao's TOC information in the flac file, and get it out again as a TOC file so I can re-burn the CD, and I ought to be able to generate a CDDB discid from the TOC file as well. How to start a script to complete configuration
Hi, We have a virtual environment based on XenServer. In this environment I defined a template for CentOS 7 servers. I would like to start a script a boot time to complete the configuration of new VMs based on this template. How can I have a script started before any login prompt to ask question to the user to complete the configuration such as hostname, IP address, etc? Thanks, Bernard

...ems pretty stable to me. There's also a program called toc2cue that comes with cdrdao that would provide some information. (This is what I use to convert the TOC files to CUE files to make the cue sheets, though I seem to lose a lot of information when I do that.) cjs -- Curt Sampson <cjs@cynic.net> +81 90 7737 2974 http://www.netbsd.org Don't you know, in this new Dark Age, we're all light. --XTC

SELinux threads, cynicism, one-upmanship, etc.
...quite perturbed. As an IT Director (and the entire IT department, currently), if I were hiring a sysadmin I know for a fact that someone whose first response to a question on why something doesn't work is 'turn it off' would not get a job here. Neither would a sysadmin with as much cynicism as has been displayed, or an automatic 'it broke things' when something new (and in fact improved) comes along get a job here. Do realize that this list is archived, and that many people who are hiring might use Google to find your name (or mine, for that matter). No, I would hire...

Re: Call for volunteers
..., the git web ui has a search option but doesn't seem to be able to search for file names?? Coming back to this with a fresh mind I see that the forums are actually a PHPBB customisation, and I guess that's why I couldn't find nothing in git. Austin, your reply appears to be merely as cynical, I guess to stop the discussion, not to support the ideas.
