Getting (and displaying) REST data
...ary, but it''s for an older
version of Amazon''s API (3 rather than 4). I''m not
even sure how it goes about making and parsing REST
requests either.
thanks

Avoiding HABTM field clobbering?
...it''s clobbering the ID field of the associated
table. It appears I can specify my own "finder_sql".
Any other way? Perhaps a :select option would be nice?
thanks

Rails app lags after inactivity
Hi all. I have two Rails applications. Each is on its own VPS hosted by
Pipespring (excellent service btw).
My app runs lightning quick - AFTER the first load. If I visit my site after
a period of inactivity (i.e. no visitors to my site), it takes up to 10
seconds to load that first time. After that I can hop around with no
problems.
Has anyone run into this before? Ideas?

NoobyQ: how to work with a table of static lookup data??
Hello out there!
Nooby question: What''s the "Rails" way to work with tables of relatively
static lookup data?
Objectively (I''m thinking); I don''t want to hit the DB each time, so for
each lookup table, initialize a globally available hash with lable/value
pairs...
Am I on the right track?
How would you do this kind of thing in Rails?
Thanks!

I''ve tried using self.file (causes a stack error), and
@id (empty). It just feels wrong mixing class and
instance vars ;). Am I missing something?
Thanks,

RPMS's rebuilt or upstream one's used
...the above. Dag's repo is also cool but not
as extensive as Fedora Extras.
Are there any plans to provide goodies like
- pup
- yumex/yum utils
now that Fedora has dropped Up2date?

Best VoIP provider
It does not look like Nufone is still in business, judging from the
content on their site, which is very little. There is not even a
configuration document to download, to connect to their network.
The rates file is only for US/Canada calling. No international
rates on this rates.csv file.
I have signed up with a $5.00 account with them way back in November

Strange Problem
I am experiencing a strange problem and wanted to know if someone has
faced any similar issues or could provide me with a way to counter this
problem. I am in the process of experimenting with asterisk and trying
to setup a basic functional system. I have one TDM400P (single port) and
one X100P. I am using one analog phone connected to the TDM400P and I
also have a couple of Xlite SIP phones
