ZFS and VXVM/VXFS
...e of the feature which we liked in Veritas, apart from the obvious ones is the ability to call the disks by name and group them in to a disk group. Especially in SAN based environment where the disks may be shared by multiple machines, it is very easy to manage them by disk group names rather than cxtxdx numbers. It just can''t open all the bits. Why is that? I notice that it''s using the underlying cXtXdX device names rather than the virtual emcpower{0,1} names. However, rather more worrying is that if I try to create a new pool, then it correctly fails if I use the cXtXdX device (warning me that it contains part of a pool) but if I go through the emcpower devices then I don''t get a warning...

slog devices don''t resilver correctly
This past weekend, but holiday was ruined due to a log device "replacement" gone awry. expand zfs for OpenSolaris running inside vm
