get_required_bits32() and alloca() -> corrupted stack
HiI'm trying to run CELT on Win32 but I'm running into some corrupted stack errors when using alloca(). When get_required_bits32() (in file cwrs.c:308) is called from get_required_bits() (in file cwrs.c:328) the 'K' parameter is 1 which means that the uint32 which is allocated on the stack only has 3 bytes instead of 4. This results in a corrupted stack in the following call to log2_frac().Shouldn't the line cwrs.c:313:ALLOC(u,K...

PVQ/CWRS with separated signs
The attached code implements PVQ encoding/decoding with separated signs
[1]. It's in Python to use the unlimited-precision integers.
The concept is to map vectors on some L-dimensional pyramid into integers
0...N, just like the standard PVQ. The only change is the mapping itself.
The mapping is altered so that all sign data is in the least significant
bits. A vector with Z nonzero

Jean-Mark, Tim,
Could either of you expound on the following comment in cwrs.c?

k=2;

SMALL_FOOTPRINT?
Jean-Marc,
Can you give us some insight into the meaning and usage of #define

Thx

[RFC PATCH v2] Encode optimize using libNe10
Changes from RFC PATCH v1:

- reduced stack usage by ~3.5K by using scaled NE10 fft version
- moved all optimization array functions to arm_celt_map.c
- Other cleanups pointed out by Timothy
Phil,
As you mentioned earlier, could you please address all
compile and linker errors/warnings coming out of Ne10 library?

[RFC PATCHv3] Encode optimize using libNe10
Changes from RFC PATCH v2
- fixed compile issue when just compiling for --enable-intrinsics
for ARMv7 without NE10
- Notes for NE10:
- All compile/link warnings are now in upstream NE10
- Only patch pending upstream in NE10 is the one that
needs to add -funsafe-math-optimizations for ARMv7
targets.
- Phil Wang @ ARM is working on getting this fixed.
- Note that even without

[RFC PATCH v1 0/2] Encode optimize using libNE10
Hello opus-dev,
I've been cooking up this patchset to integrate NE10 library into opus.
Current patchset focuses on encode use case mainly effecting performance of
clt_mdct_forward() and opus_fft() (for float only)
Glad to report the following on Encode use case:
(Measured on my Beaglebone Black Cortex-A8 board)
- Performance improvement for encode use case ~= 12.34% (Based on time -p
