custom ip phone interface
...could have button on the phone named status. when the button is pressed a list would display on the screen like 1:dnd, 2:break, 3:lunch, etc. we use aastra 57i phones. It looks like i could use xml some way to customize the phone. Also how can i dynamiclly pull the extension so I don't have to cusomize the xml for each phone. I am not sure how to get started. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Free, trusted and rich email service. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/171222984/direct/01/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed......

[OT maybe] netcafe firewall
...think of. I am particularily interested in ''the CentOS way''. For example I know there is psd module in patch-o-matic for iptables to be able to do the portscan detection in firewall... but, that doesen''t feel like ''CentOS way'' (because I have to build a cusom kernel) unless there is some kernel (even 3rd part, unsuported/etc.) that already has this in... Also I know of the portsentry tool, but the project seems pretty much dead after Cisco bought Psyonic... and again is not on up2date''s list... I intend to use Snort, though I hope that it w...

...instances from each other. For my application (mostly conferencing) I can put ~ 350 concurrent calls on a single HP Xeon server. OpenVZ is not really like KVM but more like Solaris containers or BSD jails. Docker is mostly using the same Kernel api:s that OpenVZ uses, but OpenVZ also has some cusom stuff. If you need Dahdi you will need to give the VE's access to these devices, there are articles out there that explain how this is done. Good luck! -- Johan Wilfer

Overriding html generated for submit_tag and selected links
Hi, Probably something simple, but I''m trying to change my submit_tag and other buttons to CSS based buttons based on the article at http://www.oscaralexander.com/tutorials/how-to-make-sexy-buttons-with-css.html Basically this needs the following HTML markup: <a class="button" href="#"><span>Button Text</span></a> So, the question is how can

no one cares about i18n (was [OT]: Asking questions on this list)
Do most others in the community agree with this statement? It seems to me that i18n is: 1. Actually important to many people 2. Not really the difficult to implement in concept 3. Something that people like to point out about Rails to say it''s not ready foir "Enterprise" It seems to be that a big part of Rails is encouraging people to do things the "Right Way",

tattooing of tdbsam backend with logon script value
All users whose "logon script" values have not been explicitly defined automagically inherit the value that "logon script" is set to in smb.conf. And one can change the "logon script" for all such users simply by changing said value in smb.conf. However, once a logon script value value has been explicitly defined for a user this inheritance ability (as the explicit

Application Design
Hi Railsers, How do you design your applications? Do you start coding HTML? Start with the controllers/models? Start in a program like photoshop/gimp/illustrator/inkscape? I start in inkscape, it''s a SVG editor. I sketch all the views of my application, and then I create the views that belong to one controller in RHTML. After that, I do the models/controller, and move on to the

Clustering
Hello All, Ive been doing more and more research on trying to setup a cluster/load balancer for Asterisk. All the Asterisk boxes would be using a config that is the same between them all (via a DB), but we want one location to point the phones to, and from there that machine/device will send it to a Asterisk server so the call can be processed. I know you cant balance the whole call, ie: once the
