Printing in Wine 20050725
.... However, I am now unable to print from any of them using Wine release 20050725. When I try to print, either the application hangs or I do not see any available printers inside the printer selection list in the Print command. I have the Debian packages wine, wine-utils, libwine, libwine-print, cupsys, cupsys-client, cupsys-driver-gimpprint, and cupsys-driver-gutenprint. While I normally install binary packages, I tried compiling wine from source just in case, but the home-built version had the same behavior. I have noticed that people regularly mention printing problems on this mailing list,...

Cups and Samba Access Denied
I purchased the Samba 3.0 book and it has gotten me pretty far but I finally had to go to the mailing list for this problem. Here is the issue, I am running Debian (woody) with samba 3.0.1-2 and cupsys 1.1.14-5 I have also installed cupsys-bsd cupsys-client and smbclient foomatic-bin and as2ps follwing this http://excess.org/docs/linux_windows_printing.html advice. Samba is running in Domain mode and I can log on to the network and connect to file shares just fine. Here is the issue: My printer...

cups printing and user names from trusted domains
...nbind to import NT domain users. Users accessing the print server will be not from the same domain but from trusted domains. Everything basically seems to work, once you use sufficiently new versions of cups and samba. (I'm on Debian woody, so I needed to get the 2.2.7a debs from samba.org, and cupsys-* 1.1.18-2 from Debian unstable to get a version of cupsaddsmb that actually works.) One remaining problem is that the print jobs show up in the CUPS queue as owned by "user" instead of "domain\user". Moreover, print jobs submitted by "domain1\user1" can be deleted by...

How to delte a printer
Hello, how can I delete a printer and it's driver completely out of samba? 1. Removing the entry out of smb.conf and reload samba. 2. Remove the driver over the windows serversettings dialog. But then there is a "printing/printer-name.tdb" left in the lock directory. Can I just delete this file? And how can I remove the corresponding entries out of ntprinters.tdb. And is there

I'm using wine v1.0 rc2 under debian lenny. My CUPS printer (Brother HL2030) works with no problems under linux. I've been trying to get printing from wine working without success. This is what I have tried: 1) renamed the existing ~/.wine directory to force a clean wine config 2) run: wine notepad 3) created some text in notepad 4) File->print in notepad - my CUPS printer shows as the
