No joy adding a CUPS printer
I'm trying to change my Samba setup from LPD to CUPS, with little
success. I've followed [and re-followed] the setup documentation
from CUPS and I just can't get Samba to recognize my printer.
The catch is - it sort of recognizes it :-(
First I added these lines to my smb.conf:

[global]
load printers = yes
printing = cups
printcap name =

Samba + Cups: don't succeed to print from Windows 2000 station
...re declared
- I do not succeed to print (the test page or another document). The system
says it is not able to print.
I do not see the job on the cups web interface.
May someone help me ?
Is there a problem rather with cups or with samba configuration ? What is
the point of locking ?
I executed cupstestppd on cups-samba printers ppd files. All values are
'pass'.
I looked at log files, but didnt see anything that helped me.
So if someone has some idea to help me, the idea would be welcome.

Nadine

Trying to print...
Well... we've got this poster printer. Been printing for years. There was
an, um, incident at work, and long story short, the .ppd that I had had to
create was lost. I've pretty much recreated it, and cupstestppd only gives
a few warnings... but: I've got it set up in cups on my C 6 server, to go
to the JetDirect socket, but I try to print, and it tries to send the
file, and the next thing I know, cups says the printer's paused, and in
messages I've got a "broken pipe" line.
The print...

Difficulty with Samba 2.2.8 and native CUPS PS drivers
I've recently attempted to convert from the Adobe PostScript drivers for my
Canon BJC=2110 printer over to the native CUPS Windows PS drivers and can't
quite get things to work correctly. After deleting the printer on my
WinXP SP1 clients, verifying under "Server Properties" that the Adobe driver
was removed, then reconnecting to my Samba printer, I connect fine but receive

How to install programs in wine?
I am a rank newbie to Linux and wine.
I am running Ubuntu Dapper on an AMD 1800 mhz machine, wine 0.9.15
Everything I have read says use the installer to load windows programs.
Where is the installer?
Thanks,
