printer only prints one page, if anything
I've got a Brother HL-L2360D series printer connected to Centos 7. CUPS lists it as Generic PCL6/PCL Printer - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 . When I tell it to print a pdf file, it prints at most the first page. After powering the thing off and turning it on again, it printed page 3 of pages 3-6 . On trying it again, the thing claimed it was receiving data and printed page 3 of pages 3-6 again.

Solaris 8 and cups issues
Hello there, I have a solaris 8 server running cups 1.1.20 and samba 3.0.1. We've successfully configured a handful of HP Laserjet network printers to work with our windows clients (works like a champ...very happy with winbind and the "point and print" automatic driver installation). However, we can't print from Solaris clients? We have one physical printer and two queues

No joy adding a CUPS printer
I'm trying to change my Samba setup from LPD to CUPS, with little success. I've followed [and re-followed] the setup documentation from CUPS and I just can't get Samba to recognize my printer. The catch is - it sort of recognizes it :-( First I added these lines to my smb.conf: ========================================= [global] load printers = yes printing = cups printcap name =

CUPS filtering mechanism explained, was: [cups raw mode, was Re: unlink data file in cups_job_submit]
...;normally" the native CUPS "pstoraster" filter would kick in. cupsomatic by-passes pstoraster, "kidnaps" the printfile from CUPS away and re-directs it to go through Ghostscipt. CUPS accepts this, because the associated CUPS-O-Matic-/Foomatic-PPD carries a line reading *cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-postscript 0 cupsomatic" This line persuades CUPS to hand the file to cupsomatic, once it has successfully converted it to the MIME type "application/vnd.cups-postscript". This conversion will not happen for Jobs arriving from Windows which are autotyped...

Difficulty with Samba 2.2.8 and native CUPS PS drivers
I've recently attempted to convert from the Adobe PostScript drivers for my Canon BJC=2110 printer over to the native CUPS Windows PS drivers and can't quite get things to work correctly. After deleting the printer on my WinXP SP1 clients, verifying under "Server Properties" that the Adobe driver was removed, then reconnecting to my Samba printer, I connect fine but receive

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.
