Nodes in CTDB Cluster don't release recovery lock
...couldn't find a CTDB specific mailing list or IRC so I figured the
general one would be appropriate. Please let me know if this question is
better placed elsewhere.
I'm trying to test clustered samba and have a two node CTDB setup
(Following the guide here:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/CTDB_and_Clustered_Samba) and I can't seem
to get the current setup in a totally healthy state. If there is no
recovery lock enabled, then the two nodes think they are healthy and the
other is dead, and if there is a recovery lock enabled, one node seizes it
and never releases it.
I'm running Debian Buster, with L...

Are you using the same Samba version & smb.conf on all ctdb cluster members.
If you run 'getent passwd testuser' on each cluster member, do you get
identical results ?
Have you read this:

AD Domain Controller in clustering mode
Hi all,
is it possible to use AD DC mode with clustering mode (clustering = yes)?
And if so, what is the procedure?
Should I setup CTDB and Gluster before calling samba-tool domain provision?
I think it would be nice to mention it in the documentation.
Regards.

Hi,
I don't have the user root.
No changes :( Sometimes a user gets permissions, sometimes not.

??? idmap config * : range = 1000000 - 1999999
??? idmap config EXAMPLE : backend = rid

member server idmap config (auto)rid
I've joined a samba 4.48 (debian stretch) to a Windows 2008R2 AD domain
according to
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Domain_Member
It joins OK but I cannot get idmap rid (or autorid) to work
idmap config * : backend = autorid
idmap config * : range = 1000000-1199999
Nothing is returned for getent "SAMDOM\user"
log.winbindd shows:
