Samba Persistent Handles
Yes, I saw that they are different I was just willing to test something similar. Actually, I'm searching for a Samba feature that allow transparent failover, or continuos availablity in a cluster setup (Samba + ctbd + gluster) Based on the following link my understanding is that such feature is not currently available in Samba: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/SMB3_kernel_status#Durable_handle_cross-node Is my understanding correct? CTDB_Recovery_Lock
...from /usr/src/ctdb/config to /etc/sysconfig/ctdb I set CTDB_RECOVERY_LOCK="/share/ctdb_lock/lock_file" on all three nodes. Every node can read and write on /share. When I try to start ctdb it start successful with [OK]. But it print the message "No recovery lock specified. Starting CTBD without split brain prevention." When I start the ctdbd with the " --reclock=/share/ctdb_lock/lock_file " parameter it start's up without any problems. At the first time we compile ctdb without set the parameter " --prefix= ". But then he put all files in /usr/local/...

Samba Persistent Handles
Hello Ralph, thanks for the info. I have find out that "durable handles" should be available in Samba 4.11, and actually it seems to recognize the share option: durable handles = yes Do you know if any other steps are needed to setup that feature, or could you point me any doc that help to achieve that? Samba4 on Ubuntu 18.04
...rt after reboot) # timedatectl set-ntp off Please notice, in Ubuntu 18.04 stable not in BETA version, now a "swap.img" is mounted in "/" . No swap partition anymore! In my opinion samba is ready for Ubuntu 18.04. Regards PS: All server were compiled from source, except the ctbd cluster, i used the repository (samba 4.7.6) Am 08.05.2018 um 15:52 schrieb Gregory Sloop via samba: > A sort of digest reply... > > RPvs> Not sure, what is a samba4/adc ??? > RPvs> Or do you mean a 'Has anybody joined a Samba DC on Ubuntu 18.04' ? > Yes, doing an ac...

Samba4 on Ubuntu 18.04
A sort of digest reply... RPvs> Not sure, what is a samba4/adc ??? RPvs> Or do you mean a 'Has anybody joined a Samba DC on Ubuntu 18.04' ? Yes, doing an active directory controller [ADC] not just a workgroup-share. [Though, not "joining" a DC already in existance, but creating a new AD setup.] RPvs> If so, then yes and it was hell What exactly was hellish about it?
