Crysis Retail w/ Wine 1.3.35
Hi all, I am using Kubuntu 11.10 w/ KDE Desktop 4.7.3. Desktop effects are enabled (OpenGL) and fullscreen Windows are undirected. I have an Nvidia 8800 GTX w/ proprietary driver 280.13. Everything works great (sound, mouse, in-game 3D rendering, etc) except for keyboard input!! Previously installed Crysis in a Wineprefix a few months ago (using about Wine 1.3.21 I think). I've updated Wine

Crysis first level load crash.
Hi I more or less followed the AppDB how to (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=10107&iTestingId=59999) for Crysis. Copying in the DLLs failed to solve the problem, so I rather installed directX9 from the latest winetricks as suggested in the other Crysis version

Crysis on FreeBSD
Ok, I know Crysis will run under Linux with wine but a while ago I tried to run it under OS X using wine and all I got was a white screen when I tried to launch it, why is this? I'm thinking of making the jump to FreeBSD and since OS X and FreeBSD are similar, would I get this same problem?

Crysis 2 Demo Working
Just a small post to inform you that Crysis 2 MP demo is working with wine 1.3.14. You can easily install it using PlayOnLinux (Standalone setup and Steam version) or manually install it with vcrun2008 and DirectX Runtime (June 2010) dependancies (only tested standalone). Regards, WineFan62

Crysis on Wine? Works... kinda? help?
I love puppy... A LOT. It has offered me the fastest processing out of all the OS's I've tried, and it just works, with every PC! I first started using it for my Java servers. It was phenomenal, no issues, extremely fast. Then I eventually switched my main OS to puppy. I modded and played a game called 'Minecraft', another java based game... That was also, phenomenal. Xen VGA Passthrough - GTX 480 successfully quadrified to quadro 6000 (softmod) - more than 4GB of RAM for Win XP 64 Bits
Hi Gordan, I received my Asus GTX 480 today (bought on ebay). Finally I succeeded in - quadrifying my GTX 480  into a Quadro 6000 ( softmod). - overpassing the 3-4GB of RAM on Windows XP 64 bits (domU) by applying a well known patch for Xen. - playing Crysis 2 and Darksiders II for a few minutes. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/953254ScreenshotXenSoftModedQuadro6000.png Using nvlfash I

New winetricks-alpha 20110306: new game Crysis 2 Demo and seven others, new dll dinput, lots of bug fixes; ie8 now works
Another fortnight, another Winetricks. Version 20110306-alpha has a slightly cleaned up gui, a handful of bugfixes and sha1sum updates, eight new games (crysis2_demo_mp, diablo2, dragonage, masseffect2_demo, penpenxmas, rayman2_demo, sammax301_demo, and secondlife), one new dll (dinput), and one new setting (vd=640x480). It removes ie68, which is no longer needed, now that ie8 works. It isolates

NMI SERR interrupts in dom0
I have an Intel e1000e NIC which I put into passthrough for an HVM domain under Xen 4.2. All the corresponding hardware protections are enabled on my system (DMA + Interrupt remapping), however, once in a while I get a SERR NMI in dom0 (NMI - PCI sys error (SERR) in xl dmesg). I am wondering about its exact reason. I am thinking in the following way: [+] Under Intel VT-x, interrupts are

Rubbish performance in Oblivion
Hi there, I've been trying to play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion under Linux. But under WINE performance is horrible. 640 x 480 minimum settings, and I'm getting about 4 FPS. The game runes maxed out at 1680 x 1050 with 4xAA all settings to maximum smooth on Windows. Wine 1.1.6 Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex fglrx 8.10 ATi Radeon 3870. I appreciate any responses. Does wine bottleneck framerate?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcwieeBEySc My performance doesn't even come close to this even at low resolution and overclocked, and I have the 512Mb version of this card, this guy has the 256mb version and I have the same settings, i've seen people run some really high-end games on this like crysis at decent settings, (not high just decent). Does wine actually bottleneck performance on

White boxes appearing instead of graphics.
Well, a few days ago I was using my XP laptop when I was unable to boot windows, I tried all sorts of things and couldn't get it to run, so I turned to Linux. I backed up all my stuff and today I installed Ubuntu (Maverick). In other words, I'm completely new to Linux. I heard about Wine and I installed it and I can't believe how well it works o_o, but I seem to be having a

Re: Screenshots - how to?
OK More problems folks. I can't screenshot Crysis - which I am doing to test a possible shader regression - in the latest Git. I am using: Code: #!/bin/bash for (( c=1; c<=1000; c++ )) do scrot --delay 30 --quality 50 --thumb 58 "~/Pictures/screenshot($c).png" --exec 'rm \"$f\"' done I have also tried (in place of Scrot with appropriate switches
