they are also working on a crypto filesystem with the keys stored on a
smartcard.

opensc smartcard support does not work
Hi,
sorry, I'm not on the list, so please answer directly.
I use opensc-0.7.0 and pcsc-lite-1.1.1 under FreeBSD 4.6
with Gemplus 410 and 430 smartcard readers and Schlumberger
cryptoflex smartcards.
I used openssh-3.2.2p1 but the relevant file scard-opensc.c
is unchanged in 3.4.
RSA authentication to a remote host running opensshd
did not work with the smartcard.
Investigating the problem I found, that the signature is
not ASN1 encoded, when using smartcards. The following

Samba and the use of smart cards for authentication
Hi,
We have a windows based network. Now we would like to secure all the computers
with the use of smart cards (so that people can log on with a smart card).
For testing purposes we bought some card readers and now we are trying to set
up a testing lab. First problem we ran in to is that we would need W2K Server
for Active Directory and the MS CA. Until now we used Samba for print and

[Bug 1498] New: OpenSC smartcard access should use raw public keys, not X.509 certificates
...er of
#includes in scard-opensc.c, and removes a compilation warning, for
whatever that's worth.
The patch was developed and tested against openssh 4.7p1 (from debian
unstable), but it also applies cleanly to CVS HEAD. I used
libopensc2-dev version 0.11.4, and did my testing against an Axalto
CryptoFlex eGate 32k hardware token.
I'd appreciate any feedback on the patch. If i can do anything to
encourage its adoption into the upstream codebase, let me know what it
needs.
