Re: Warhammer Dark Crusade: scroll map with mouse
Man....what a mess. As Tau, I could barely get through the map, gritting my teeth with every mouse click, hoping they'd survive. If the Dino died, I was toast. This was one map I just could not excel as the Tau. But as Space Marines, the mission ended in 15 mins. 2 Land Raiders, 2 Tanks and the "oh crap!" Grey Knights + Terminators + Assault Terminators made the Orcs their personal

Re: Warhammer Dark Crusade: scroll map with mouse
Okay Recently I've gotten into Warhammer 40K and one of the races that I'm interested in playing as in Dark Crusade (Once I finish Winter Assault) is the Necrons. So I was wondering would it be possible to port some of the Necron units from Dark Crusade or not?

[wine 1.29] - Warhammer 40000 Dark Crusade Demo
hi guys! I'm using ubuntu 9.04 with wine 1.29 and I'm trying to run the "Warhammer 40000 Dark Crusade Demo" (version 1.2 I think). the installer works fine, the game start, the audio is good, the intro plays fine, but after the creation of a new profile, I cannot choose any menu item. they "respond" to mouse over but nothing happens when I "clic" on them...

Warhammer Dark Crusade: scroll map with mouse
Hi guys, I've recently installed warhammer dark crusade with wine 1.3.4, but I cannot scroll laterally the map with the mouse. Moving the cursor up and down, make the map to scroll properly, but no way left or right. By the way, the cursor becomes normal (my theme arrow) just a little before the edge of the screen on the right and left sides. I'm using a virtual desktop configured to my

Re: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade model problems
I have just tried uninstalling then installing again, still the same problems, but it did help with the army painter (it now rotates, it didn't before). I've tried the links, but neither improve the problems, just make the game run slightly faster (is this what they are meant to do?) Could it be the CD that's the problem? It's not exactly in perfect condition, if you know what I

Install to alternate location
Hello, I am trying to download and install samba with winbind but I can not make it go to a different location, I do not want it to go to /usr/local/samba because when I do then the system does not use the new version. I have tried to link the new version with the old but I could not get that to work either. If someone can assist me in making an install go to an alternate location as well

WoW on Ubuntu 10.04
Hi, some time ago i've installed WoW in Ubuntu 9.10 using wine 1.1.42 (wine1.2 ubuntu package). Everything fine, had a few fps problems but with some tips found in wowwiki i've manage to increase fps to about 20. Some users would say it's still low, but i was happy with it. Well, some weeks ago i've updated to Ubuntu lucid (10.04). It's great, but my WoW fps drop down to about

Dawn of War - Dark Crusade, graphics problem
Hello, I have some graphics problems with Dark Crusade. I have tested both windowed and fullscreen with lowest settings, it makes no difference. It plays fine in highest settings in Windows, so my graphics card is not the problem. Maybe the drivers for linux is crappy or something, but i havent experienced anything like this before in any other game.

Wrath of the Lich King
I just installed Ubuntu for the first time yesterday, so I'm still pretty much a total noob. I installed Wine and got the other programs that I needed. Everything went smoothly. I installed World of Warcraft and Burning Crusade. Those installed fine. When I put in the WotLK disc, however, it says, "Access Denied." I also tried downloading it from the WoW website. It downloaded for

Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility - mini-pci wireless card 1390
Is there any way I can find a driver and/or get the above wireless card working in CentOS 5 on my Dell laptop (Inspiron 1501). I've installed ipw2200 from RPMForge, but it now appears that this won't work because the card is not an Intel PRO/Wireless card. Dell seem to support only MS Windows Vista now so I don't think there's much chance of getting a driver from them - so am I on

Winbind!
Hello, I am running Red Hat 7.3 Samba 2.26 and winbind. I have been able to join the domain and test all of the following with these commands. All works great. winbind -u winbind -g getent passwd getent group But when I set up a share to test with one domain user account it just presents me with a password dialog box and does not accept anything. It should not prompt me but if it does

No Video in Video Game
I am installing the original Stronghold Crusader when I install it using wine all seems to go well until I actually start the game then when the aspect ratio changes for the game there is no video but from what I can hear when I move my mouse everything else seems to be responding normally. I thought it might be related to the nVidia drivers that were installed by the "hardware drivers

game - WOW BC installed and playing
Just wanted to let anyone that is wondering about the World of Warcraft Burning Crusade expansion that it all seems to work fine. It installed straight from the disks with no problems and patches worked fine with no work arounds. The text on the large buttons on the install screens is still super small and hard to read, but if you squint and tilt your head you can make out what it says. :)

[OT] RedHat's licence, CentOS rebuild
Hello, I've been talking with some friends about the Redhat's SRPMs release issue. I've been reading the trademarks and some points of GPL. But get some confusion around the questions: Is redhat forced to release the sources of its product? Is redhat forced, due GPL licence, to make the sources of its product available to others (including those who don't buy the distro), and

RE: Can you assist me? I have seen yours and Jennifer Fountains corr espondence
1. What version of samba? You should be trying 2.2.5 or 2.2 6 for one of the more stable winbind releases. 2. Are you running NIS? Try changing the winbind separator to _ (underscore) 3.. Did you put winbind in your nsswitch.conf file? If so, did you force the system to re-read that info (happens automatically on solaris, must run nsadmin restart on Irix, don't know about other

SegFault with World of Warcraft
Hello! A rather new wine user here. I'm running a 64bit ArchLinux and have installed wine and practically all 32bit libs, so as far as I know, I shouldn't have a problem there. I'm trying to play World of Warcraft, but when starting the game up, it complains about Segmentation Fault and something about the LD_LIBRARY_PATH.http://pastebin.com/m7d89e8d4 There is the output when

WOW won't start
Just installed WOW, Burning Crusade, patch. Won't go past the first startup screen. Looked at AppDB, found bug 8774. Sounds like that could be (or be related to) what I'm getting. Ran 'glxgears' and got the following: volunteer at bigkona:~$ glxgears Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual
