multiple barplot
Dear all, I want to put 9 barplots side by side. My code below only print 5 names from 9 names I gave. Problem: how to print all of those 9 names? I use cex=0.8 but did not work, it gave me error message. d<-matrix(rpois(45,3),5,9) barplot(d,beside=T,col=rainbow(5),names=c("CRTL","LSB","ONEMKR", "TWOMKR","BLUP","BLUPQ","BLUP1M","BLUP2M","GAS")) # with cex=0.8 (but not working) barplot(d,beside=T,col=rainbow(5),names=c("CRTL","LSB","ONEMKR", &q...

bug on --partial
...gbfile server: If process is interrumpted, temporary file is renamed to good filename with size samall than original, say 400Mbyte, ok. If from client I do again the same command, then, in server the 400Mbyte file is COPIED to another temporary file, but this take some time. I from client I press crtl-C when in server temporary file is not already copied, say is 200 Mbyte, temporary file overwrites the 400Mbyte file, losing a lot of data. Why do no symple rename partial file to temporry file, instead of COPYING? (Copying generates obvious additional problems where disk space is short).

yum update fails: CentOS 5.2
It gets as far as telling me: Total download size: 207 M It doesn't ask if its ok. But if I type y<enter> it reports: Is this ok [y/N]: Downloading Packages: Then it does nothing. I can't kill it with CRTL-C, but I killed the yum process with kill -9 from another window. I retried it several times; same result. Thanks for your help. Mike.

Does Wine leave a Zombie-Thread behind?
...estion was discussed before. I installed Wine to have Lotus Notes running on my Linux-Box (SuSE 7.2). I use to start it via a desktop shortcut. After closing Notes I still find a wine process running. If I start it from the command line, I also have to kill the process after Notes is finished (CRTL-C). Is this a bug or a feature? Any workarounds? Cheers Axel -- __________________________________________________________ News suchen, lesen, schreiben mit http://newsgroups.web.de

R-alpha: lbeta, ctrl-C and crashes
1. lbeta and beta do not work properly: lbeta returns its first argument and beta gives the lbeta result. In names.c lines 245-6, the codes for these should be 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2 2. crtl-C does not work (except the first time) on Red Hat elf Linux (which has many many other problems as well) nor on the previous version of Linux for Amiga. It worked on Slackware aout Linux and now works on the most recent version of Linux for the Amiga. It also works correctly on a Sun. 3. I suspec...

Freenx full screen mode problem fixed in 0.5.x?
...It broke full screen mode for Linux clients. I am aware of the ctrl-alt-f workaround. But I have quite a few users at branch offices who depend on NX and with employee turnover and all, it has been a source of confusion for us. Has anyone come up with a fix so that fullscreen works without crtl-alt-f? I've searched the freenx/knx list and have found no mention of anyone there having problems. Just the centosplus version. I prefer to continue using the CentOS-provided package, though. Thanks for any assistance. -Steve

Problems with large trusted domains?
...nk) on my Solaris 8 server using Samba 2.2.3a. Whenever I do a long directory listing on a directory that contains a file placed via the samba share by an NT user on the trusted domain, the SUN box just hangs there. It acts like it is searching the database, but after three or four minutes I just CRTL + C it. Do you think this is winbind not working correctly, or is it because it is polling a trusted domain with anywhere between 1000 and 3000 user accounts? My Samba box is a domain member of an NT 4 domain (departmental domain) which has a two way trust relationship with a second NT domain for...

Problems with a PDC
...lled up with Windows clients. I have set up the Samba server and I can "mount" a directory from samba in a letter on a windows machine, such as g: for example. This works fine, but... I can't log in, or validate users, against the samba server. When in a windows machine an user press crtl+alt+del and puts his username+password+domain correctly, windows responds that it can't connect to the domain controller or that account doesn't exist on the server... but it exists. Obviously, the user exists in the server: /etc/passwd and /.../smbpasswd and have the rights to log in. I...

OpenSSH hanging
...om OpenSSH It presents itself when using the "ssh -t" / pseudo terminal. We are using this feature to update the wtmp and it is working fine on SuSE and RH, but our AIX hosts are getting hung. The first attempt is usually successful, but eventually, the session is hung and the CRTL-Z does not put the process into background. Home drive and logon scripts intermitently not applied
...here, regardless of the software they have installed. Most times this fails immediately after the PC is turned on. The user is able to login properly but no logon scripts or home drive. If the user then logs off and logs in again, then it always works. Also, if I let the PC sit on the "Press Crtl-Alt-Del" screen for several minutes and then logon, most times the issue does not occur. I know that probably this is not a Samba issue, but hopefully you can help. I have read thousands of posts about this problem, but couldn't find a solution or at least the cause of the issue. Couple more problems (ov_open_callbacks)
...s basically: memcpy(pDst, myStreamPtr, bytes ); myStreamPtr += bytes; ..etc. etc. I didn't bother implementing a close function (I just stubbed it out). Looking at my read callback, I always seem to get requests for one object of varying size. I've modeled my callbacks on the stream IO CRTL stuff (fseek/fread/ftell/fclose), including parameters and return values. I assume this is correct? Any other obvious problems I should look for? Barring any epiphanies, I may end up having to implement a test version using ov_open to see if it's my callbacks (which I suspect). Thanks, Bri...

Screen blacked out
I have a CentOS 4.3 workstation I use for experimentation on my desk at work. It was plugged into an old LG 14" monitor, and I switched the video cable to a Samsung 17" LCD without rebooting. The screen resolution was set to 800x600 on the 14" monitor, and the display worked fine at 800x600 after switching to the Samsung 17". When I changed the resolution to 1024x764, the
