Bug#668550: libxs-dev conflicting with libxen-dev
Hi,
Since Xen has been around for a long long time, and that libxs is pretty
new in Debian (only few days), I'd say that libxs-dev should be fixed.
Do you agree?
Cheers,

Ferret - Job help.
Hi there.
We are currently using ferret in our project, and have hit a crossroads
with development and are looking to expand. So more positions have
opened up and we would like to ramp up our search features.
We are looking for anyone interested in a job! I''m not sure if this is
the right place to post this or if it is appropriate (my apologies if it
is not).

Where to go next; Winbind/LDAP/ID mapping
...figured 2 RHEL4 boxes running samba-3.0.10-1.4E to
join our W2K AD domain and run as member servers. wbinfo
-u/-g and getent passwd/group work OK and resolve users
within the domain and I've created a test share with domain
permissions that we can copy to etc.
So now I've reached a bit of a crossroads. As I understand
it winbind maps the domain SID's to UID's/GID's on a random
basis, but as the 2 boxes will eventually form part of a
cluster I need to make sure that the ID mappingsare
identical on each box otherwise I'll have a hell of a job
when failing over.
Looking through the...

More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads.
One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness.
The other, to total extinction.
Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.

Rails and bb forum integration
Hi,
I''m new to Rails. Have read the Agile book. Working on new app, its
going well.
Now, I am at a crossroads. I need to choose a bbs for my site
The significance for rails development is that I want to have single
sign on between both my Rails app and my forum.
I was just about to work on integrating the Rails SaltedLoginGenerator
into my rails app when I read this post

Looking for a Ruby on Rails developer interested in a startup project
...a wide range of services
that are vital for any author’s success. Editorial counseling,
proofreading, illustration, promotion and publicity are some of the
services that allow to create a high-quality eBook.
Today, there is no equivalent solution for digital publishing.
We ambition to be at a crossroads between traditional publishing companies
and self-publishing. We are creating a unique, safe, and incredibly simple
online platform and bookstore to allow authors to self-publish and sell
their books, while still offering them all along the way the services they
reckon they need to successfully...

Moving from Splus to R - advice/opinions request from amanagement perspective
...r their analyses, and using the R output to [manually]
compile a report or similar deliverable.
So my biggest concern for the migration is the import/export. Given
your evaluation of your statistics needs such that S+ might be
"over-kill" - and because your organization seems to be at a crossroads
for this information system, maybe take a good look at what is serving
S+ its data. If it's something to the tune of SAP, MySQL, or Oracle,
then that application might have enough mathematical/statistical/data
management features to accomplish your objectives -- not to mention that
all of thes...

*** Asterisk Sunday News: Gone Fishing...
Spring is back in the Stockholm area. After a few day's worth winter re-runs,
the sun is back and night-time temperature is at least 5 degrees celsius. Time to
move out all my annual flowers and prepare the garden for summer.
Sweden is famous for our annual five week holidays - by law. From june to late
august, it's almost impossible to make any business decision, since there's always

Why Wouldn't I Use Rails
I am starting a large project and still selecting what
framework to use.
Rather than ask brand x what is wrong with brand y, I am
more interested in self confession.
Why would I *not* want to use Rails (compared to Iowa and Nitro).
I posted a synopsis of the project to ruby-talk but will repost
it here if anyone wants it.
