rsync -H option yields corrupt replicas (due to non-unique inode ids)
Hi, Our organization hosts a specialized Linux distribution. As is typical with Linux distributions, the set of files that make up our Linux distro contains a very complex web of self-referential hard links. Several other sites use our Linux distro and maintain either partial or full internal mirror copies of it. The standard method used by Linux mirror sites to pull/replicate a subset of a

Differential file systems?
Hello Is there any progress in "differential file systems"? Pardon if i missed that. Usage Example: I make a backup(*) copy of a database file, 1GB each file, today. File size is "fixed" as the structure is predefined. There are only a few place where values where changed. Most of it is static. Tomorrow i do the next backup and try to hard link to save disc space. But

Extraneous option in sshd_config?
Hi, I've found the option in CentOS 7 in sshd_config file #Host *.local # CheckHostIP no I think that option is for ssh_config, not for sshd_config. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance! -- -- Sergio Belkin http://www.sergiobelkin.com LPIC-2 Certified - http://www.lpi.org

cross link connection fall down
Hey all, i am fighting with a strange behavior here - i have two systems connected via a direct crosslink wire. After booting, the connection is up and both systems can reach the other one. After a small time window the interface is down. $ dmesg |grep eth4 igb 0000:41:00.2: added PHC on eth4 igb 0000:41:00.2: eth4: (PCIe:5.0Gb/s:Width x4) igb 0000:41:00.2: eth4: PBA No: G13158-000 8021q:

White space being removed from "Programlisting" elements
Good Morning Mike, I''m finding that when I load a document, XXE is blindly removing all "superfluous" white space from "programlisting" elements. This of course is leading to a real mess (check out the FAQ on the web site :-( ). What can I do to avoid this? -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \

[Very Strange] Windows Networking suddendly stopped working
Hi list, I hope that maybe one of you can shed some light on this, as this is a very strange case and I don't even have the slightest clue from what this symptom may all come from. Maybe not Samba, maybe Hardware, maybe buggy windows ..... Problem: We have running a Samba 3.0.7 (from backports.org) Debian 3.0 STABLE Server here for over a year now. On Tuesday this week we got the first

Performance problem
We use some Samba servers running SuSE 7.1 and samba 2.2.1a. These servers are sometimes very slow while delivering data over the network. It is like a short sleep-mode followed by a wake up. We use Win 95, 98 and 98SE Clients. Any ideas? Thanks from germany, Andre Klocke -------------- next part -------------- HTML attachment scrubbed and removed

hello world
Hi, As someone who just recently came to the Syslinux project, with a different agenda but still a Syslinux noob maybe I can add my perspective. The Doc/Wiki makes perfect sense from a DEVELOPERS point of view, but I think the point here is maybe from a USERS point of view not so much. Even approaching syslinux with the purpose of building a custom .c32 module and leveraging the core syslinux

Need some help with a new SNAT/DNAT/NAT + DMZ + Xen Host/Guest config.
Hi. I''m migrating to shorewall(6) mgmt of my various firewalls. Simple configs have been easy with the great docs. I''ve got a slightly more convoluted config, and have gotten ''lost'' in config''ing a SNAT/DNAT/NAT + DMZ + Xen Host/Guest set up with Static IP/29. two questions for R beginners
* What were your biggest misconceptions or stumbling blocks to getting up and running with R? * What documents helped you the most in this initial phase? I especially want to hear from people who are lazy and impatient. Feel free to write to me off-list. Definitely write off-list if you are just confirming what has been said on-list. -- Patrick Burns pburns at pburns.seanet.com
