samba constantly creating mapping
...70-2144936185*
Active Directory : No
Native : No
Primary : No
As I understand I should somehow add entry for this SID in local SAM database with "net sam". But
how: with "net sam createlocalgroup" or "net sam createdomaingroup" or "net sam createbuiltingroup"?
I don't understand SAM well, please advice me how to do this.
Thanks.

Question about BUILTIN\Administrators and BUILTIN\Users nested groups in 3.3.3
Sorry about the dumb question:
Are the "BUILTIN\Administrators" and "BUILTIN\Users" local (nested) groups
supposed to be populated with DOMAINNAME\Domain Administrators and
DOMAINNAME\Domain Users (respectively) by default? If I download the Redhat
Samba package, they are populated. Not so with a compiled version.
I've had a helluva time populating BUILTIN\Administrators

Problems resolving most users with winbind and AD/SFU (Resolved?)
...shouldn't belong to those groups and they still remained usable by
winbind. What the heck? I have no clue what hidden flag got enabled
on these accounts to make them work just by temporarily passing them
through the BUILTIN groups. On one of the Samba fileservers I had not
even performed the createbuiltingroups step to make these groups
accesible. The BUILTIN\Users group was already populated with the
"Domain Users" security group, of which all accounts were already
members of.
I've seen a few other posts from folks having problems AD user
accounts from winbind. I'm wondering if this...

This type of error also appears when I use subinacl to set group permissions

create_local_nt_token: Failed to create BUILTIN\Users group!
This seems to indicate that the server is unable to create builtin accounts, it also happens for the BUILTIN\administrators group and others.
Running "net sam createbuiltingroup" returns: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Can anyone give me a pointer in the right direction.

Backup Operators (S-1-5-32-551) -> BUILTIN backup operators

Domain Users (S-1-5-21-414638506-200849585-235676652-513) -> domusers
The Administrators and Users Builtins were created automatically by
winbind. The others were created with net sam createbuiltingroup.
If I stop the winbind service, with out any other changes, usrmgr.exe
starts correctly and I can add users, change group memberships, etc.
net groupmap list with winbind stopped shows:

Printer Admin Difficulties
I have been trying to setup a new print server on Fedora 12 based around
samba-3.4.7-58.fc12.x86_64 and cups-1.4.2-28.fc12.x86_64. All looks
good except for the ability for printer administrators to manage
printers. Whether I specify users in a system group using the
deprecated printer admin option, or specifically using net rpc rights
and the SePrinterOperatorPrivilege, it does not matter.
