How to include the Scope(...) in a generated string?
I''d like to include similar information that notice() spits out in a
file I am generating -- basically so that anyone looking at the
generated file (actually a file fragment) could trace it back to the
class that is generating the entry.
Using $name within the file fragment is the closest I am getting to
what I want -- is there anything better?

[LLVMdev] Cache optimizations and data layout
Hello,
I am new to LLVM. I am using an x86 code generator. I need to write a few
passes based on cache blocks and data layout information. Does LLVM provide
a way for me to see the data layout and analyze what are the cache blocks?
If not is it possible to implement the same in the current framework?
Thank You

DNIS dropping digits.
I've got an E&M wink T1 into a Sangoma card, and it's dropping my DNIS
digits. I'm supposed to get four digits from the CO, and I reliably get
the first digit -- it's a crapshoot as to how many after the first I
get. I have overlapdial=yes and immediate=no.
Any other suggestions of things to tweak/try?
Thanks!

...ersonal opinion. It's why I publish SRPM's for many distinct python
modules. You simply do not know which version of a module, or which
version of a module dependency, you will wind up with depending on
what has updated on pypi.org and what you already have installed. It
is an unpredictable crapshoot. I just ran into this in force when
someone casually ran "pip instlal awscli", which was already present,
and the umask was set to 077 and broke other new dependencies for
non-root users.
pip, like CPAN, ant, maven, gradle, and rubygems, is prone to bringing

I installed a Centos 4.x system using a lvm install across four HDDs.
It is my first install using LVM. System had a power-failure and
stopped booting up. A new trainee simply took out the HDDs and
restarted the file-server on a fresh HDDs.
Now the problemis that the four HDDs have data. But the order of the
HDDs (of install....1st primary, 2nd primary etc.) is unknown. Earlier

Watching Netflix movies on CentOS
Has anyone here been able to view Netflix movies on CentOS? (It requires
Internet Explorer, and I'm wondering what the workaround is for Firefox)

FreeBSD doesn't find my CD-RW and sometimes my DVD
Hi , I'm disperated
I've recently installed FreeBSD 4.8 ,and all at the first look was ok ,
this was only a try in a small partition , and now I have decided to
install it in a bigger partition , so I've downloaded the 5.1 ISO (to
give it a try too) and I've tried to BURN it with "burncd" . Now, I've
noticed that in the DEV directory there are the devices

Ok, I've given up
Sigh,
In the interest of moving forward on this project I've given up trying to
get Dovecot to support mailboxes, rather I've tweaked around in qmail and
had it deliver into a mail directory on a disk, that isn't NFS mounted. That
got me past the various locking complaints and "operation not supported" on
home directories that were mounted from the NetApp filer.
Going as

Halo,
Please can you explain why this is advantage over a hardware load balancer.
I fail to see advantage if anything it add in more point of failure, with
several hundred thousand user, we can ill afford to mess around or add to
complexity, sometime keeping it simple is simply way to be, when use
qmail/vpopmail, we never had one failure or problem, ever, we very proud of
this record so our users.

Collecting entropy from device_attach() times.
Hi.
I experimented a bit with collecting entropy from the time it takes for
device_attach() to run (in CPU cycles). It seems that those times have
enough variation that we can use it for entropy harvesting. It happens
even before root is mounted, so pretty early.
On the machine I'm testing it, which has minimal kernel plus NIC driver
I see 75 device_attach() calls. I'm being very careful

ZFS RaidZ recommendation
I have been searching this forum and just about every ZFS document i can find trying to find the answer to my questions. But i believe the answer i am looking for is not going to be documented and is probably best learned from experience.
This is my first time playing around with open solaris and ZFS. I am in the midst of replacing my home based filed server. This server hosts all of my media
