hash sum mismatch (tested on xenial cran35 repo ) startnig 4/27
Starting 4/27/2020 I started having issues installing r-base/dev packages on unbuntu 16.04. Here are the commands I used based on https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README.html echo "deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial-cran35/" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list gpg --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys E298A3A825C0D65DFD57CBB651716619E084DAB9 gpg -a --export E298A3A825C0D65DFD57CBB651716619E084DAB9 | sudo apt-key add - apt-get clean rm -r /var/lib/apt/lists/* apt-get update apt-get install --yes r...

Problem with Ubuntu bionic R 3.5
I ran into a problem installing R 3.5 on Ubuntu Bionic Beaver. In file /etc/apt/sources.list I added the repository entry "deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/". But "apt-get update" now produces an error message: W: Konflikt bei Distribution: https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/ InRelease (bionic-cran35/ erwartet, aber bionic bekommen) In english, this should read something like W: conflict in distribution: h...

Problem with Ubuntu bionic R 3.5
I have this too on Ubuntu Bionic. The English error message is: W: Conflicting distribution: https://cran.rstudio.com/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/ InRelease (expected bionic-cran35/ but got bionic) Though the error doesn't seem to prevent use of the repository. I could apt-get install R 3.5 no problem. On Wed, Jun 13, 2018 at 2:04 PM, Ulrich Leuchtmann < ulrich.leuchtmann at t-online.de> wrote: > I ran into a problem instal...

Ubuntu issue with 18.04 Bionic Beaver
Dear Dirk (other users and Dave) PART 1 I finally was able to install R.3.5.1, however, I had to invoke the following sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys E084DAB9 As this skin of Ubuntu 18.04 (Peppermint) does not seem to allow access to the bionic-cran35 repository unless this key is set and added to the system. This is odd - well for me anyway, as for other skins of Ubunto say 16.04 (Peppermint) I do not have to do this, though when I do sudo apt-get update it does complain bitterly about the key not being validated but continues? Perhaps this w...

Installing R in Ubuntu
...uestion is under this scenario how can I install R in that machine? I was wondering if I could have some .deb file available then I could scp that .deb file from my local computer (this has internet) to that Ubuntu server. But when I reached to https://cran.cnr.berkeley.edu/bin/linux/ubuntu/disco-cran35/, I failed to identify any deb file. Could you shed some light on this? Thanks and regards,

libRblas.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
R 3.5.1 is installed under Linux Mint 19 from binaries r-base and r-base-dev from ubuntu bionic-cran35.? Mysteriously, packages using libRblas cannot be compiled.? I get: libRblas.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.? And indeed, I find no libRblas.so. Any ideas about how to fix this? Thanks, Steve

Xenial rpart package on CRAN built with wrong R version?
...NeedsCompilation "yes" Built ?3.4.3" Package r-cran-rpart was updated though, as "apt-cache show r-cran-rpart" lists the package file as "xenial-cran35/r-cran-rpart_4.1-13-1cran1xenial0_amd64.deb". No other version of rpart is installed. It seems that this Ubuntu Xenial package has to be updated with a version of rpart what was built with R 3.5 (instead of 3.4.3). Thank you for the otherwise great work and kind regards, Uli Keller [[alt...

Corrected msg about Linux Mint 19.1 install
...me glitch. It's not directly an R issue, but if folk can't get an install to work, they are not going to use R. While I've always had a straightforward experience before, this install gave some troubles. I added the repository deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu bionic-cran35/ When I "saved" in Software Sources to add the additional repository, I got a malformed repository error. So I took out the "deb" bit of the line, and it was accepted. I added the key for Michael Rutter and checked it is not the second key as per http://rubuntu.netlify.com/pos...
