Developing a web chat using Rails 3
Hi!
I''m trying to develop a web chat (like the facebook one, but much
simpler) that works inside Rails 3, and so I''m inquiring about the
methods used for this scope. I had some success applying this guide
http://www.web2media.net/laktek/2010/02/16/building-real-time-web-apps-with-rails3/
, so now I am able to send messages form the server to the client.
Anyway, I read about

Rails and WebSockets
I''m thinking of starting on a Ruby website that uses WebSockets, and
perhaps working some on a server for it beforehand. Is good support
for asynchronous connections something I could work on adding to the
Rails core? Is it feasible? Desired? As I understand it, Rails plugins
like Juggernaut [1] aren''t going to optimally support async, since
they can''t re-architecture

NX on 4.5 vs 5.0
NX connections to my 4.5 server give "cramped" looking fonts (as if
the resolution were wrong). Connections to my 5.0 server look great
regardless of the resolution. Both use GNOME. Is there anything I
can do to the 4.5 servers to increase the quality of the NX
connections?
Thanks,

different compilers and mzR build fails
I'm not sure if I should bother you team with this,
apologies in case it's a bother.
I'm trying gcc 6.2.1 (from devtoolset-6) with R, everything
seems to work just fine, except for mzR.
Here is failed build:
g++ -m64 -shared -L/usr/lib64/R/lib -Wl,-z,relro -o mzR.so
cramp.o ramp_base64.o ramp.o RcppRamp.o RcppRampModule.o

MeetMe not prompting for PIN
Hello, all. I must be brain cramping badly on our Asterisk 1.6.1.1
installation. Our MeetMe macros are working fine except they do not
prompt for a PIN. So I made a very simple conference room:
exten => 7777,1,MeetMe(123456,cMaAsx,123456)
Shouldn't this prompt the user who dials 7777 to enter a PIN before
entering the conference room whether or not a PIN is defined in
meetme.conf? I

PCI SATA Controller Recommendations?
...It should be PCI, bootable, have 4 SATA ports, have native support (no crap proprietary or manually compiled drivers), and possibly hot swap support. Any ideas?
There are plenty of PCI-X and PCIe controllers that I think would work but the use for this card is in a smaller 1U server that is quite cramped, hence the query for a standard PCI card.
All suggestions and comments welcome. Thank you!

Cannot install dcom98
...g library ole32.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\users\\paolo\\Temp\\IXP000.TMP\\advpack.dll") failed (error c000007b).
According to error.c source (http://source.winehq.org/source/dlls/ntdll/error.c?v=wine-1.3.8) c000007b should mean ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT.
What can I try? I am seriously cramped as a productivity app depends on it (autocad 2000)...
Thanks.

different compilers and mzR build fails
I do this on a vanilla-clean R installation, simply:
> biocLite("mzR")
it pulls some deps in which compile fine, only mzR fails.
... meanwhile...
I grabbed devtools and comiled github master - still fails.
Should I attach build log? One should not send attachments
to the list.. I don't suppose?

different compilers and mzR build fails
mzR is a Bioconductor package, so better to ask on the Bioconductor
support forum
https://support.bioconductor.org
Oh, I see you did, and then the advice is to avoid cross-posting!
The missing .o files would have been produced in an earlier compilation
step; they likely failed in some way, so you need to provide the
complete compilation output.
Did you do this on a version of the package

Incoming SIP and the 's' extension
Hello, all. My apologies up front but I must be brain cramping on
something very simple. I've tried to pare down my configuration to the
absolute minimum for SIP traffic just to understand how it works. My
incoming calls are not finding the "s" extension in my dial-plan. I am
assuming SIP calls can do this. I am using Asterisk 1.6.1.1

[LLVMdev] fmac generation for cortex-a9
Hi Sebastien,
ARMv7-M has VFMA and LLVM's "triple" is far from perfect.
Wikipedia tells me NovaThor can also be A15, or STE could have cramped
a VFPv4 in it? ;) Or possibly, your code never branches into the VFMA.
Many things could be happening, but usually, VFMA shouldn't be
generated for A9.
A GCC bug, maybe?

Make for Ruby 1.9.3 results in "cc1: out of memory allocating X bytes after a total of Y bytes"
I am unable to install RoR on a VPS running RedHat Linux with 512 MB. When
I run "make" and "make install" I get the following output/error below.
What can I do to resolve this memory problem?
It appears I should have sufficient memory to install. I included the
results of "make" and "free" to show the failure as well as the available
memory.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] fmac generation for cortex-a9
Hi Bastien,
Weird gcc is generating fma for my platform STEricsson Novathor with Linaro, code works. It also works when I use LLVM to generate fma (using llc -mtriple=armv7-eabi). Maybe someone from ARM can answer the question ?
