Performance tests
I did some testing of vorbis codec (Winamp plugin) on a Pentium 166 MMX, and
found that the performance is pretty good. I got 3 % cpu utisization if I
turned dithering off, and 5 % otherwise. This was with a 138 kbit song. It's
pretty long to mp3 performance that was 0 to 1 % on that machine for a 128
kbit song.
Also vorbis seems to have a larger working set, because if I play two songs

Samba Log Analysis.
I have searched the web for scripts to analyze Samba logs and found
nada. Has anyone written a tool that will produce something on the
order of what Webalyzer or Analog produce? I would love to see what
applications we use eat up the most resources without actually having
to use my brain. I know I could whip one up myself, but that requires
me to use my brain, etc... I'm not much of a

How to diagnose a busy LDAP server process in the Samba AD DC
The saga continues...
I've spent a whole day with log level 5 and 7 and no error. All I have to
do is return the log to the default and the error reappears.
I monitored the "LDAP Query: Duration", but I didn't notice any crashes in
the queries.
I don't know if it's a long time, but some queries took 1.5s.
Is there anything else I can do?
