Intel turbo mode
Hi, is there a way in Centos to find out if the Intel turbo mode will be used? Using the 'stress' utility and checking the frequency with cpupower tells me that a CPU is running at it?s maximum frequency as reported by cpupower --- and this frequency is less than the frequency it would run at if it used the turbo mode. All the other CPUs are at their minimum frequency. I have verified that turbo mode is enabled in the BIOS. Is cpupower u...

CPU Freq Scaling
Hi list, I'm using C7 and noticed that cpu freq is enabled with governor conservative. I've used cpupower utils for governor change, but at the next boot it restart with conservative governor. I've tried also to start cpupower service and setting OPT in /etc/sysconfig/cpupower but it does not works. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

[PATCH] RFC: Linux: disable APERF/MPERF feature in PV kernels
...we could as well do it in the HV''s xen/arch/x86/traps.c:pv_cpuid(). Also when the Dom0 VCPUs are pinned, we could allow this, but I am not sure if it''s worth to do so. Awaiting your comments. Regards, Andre. P.S. Of course this doesn''t fix pure userland software like cpupower, but I would consider this in the user''s responsibility to not use these tools in Dom0, but instead use xenpm. -- Andre Przywara AMD-Operating System Research Center (OSRC), Dresden, Germany _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xen....

centos 7: trouble setting the ondemand governor
Hi, The default "stop" action for the cpupower service seems to be to set the ondemand governor, but this fails. I can reproduce the issue directly by running cpupower: $ sudo cpupower frequency-set -g ondemand Setting cpu: 0 Error setting new values. Common errors: - Do you have proper administration rights? (super-user?) - Is the governor...

Missing /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq
...he reason for /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq non-existing? The cpu supports EIST. My guess is this may not be available because of cpu power/performance settings in the BIOS, but I can't take down production machines to play with this. Any ideas?
