[patch 0/6] i386 gdt and percpu cleanups
Hi Andi, This is a series of patches based on your latest queue (as of the other day, at least). It includes: - the most recent patch to compute the appropriate amount of percpu space to allocate, using a separate reservation for modules where needed. - make the percpu sections page-aligned, so that percpu variables can be page aligned if needed (which is used by gdt_page) -

Power aware credit scheduler
...q is scaled dynamically When cpufreq/Px is enabled, cpu''s frequency is adjusted to different operation points driven by a on-demand governor. So csched_acct may need take frequency difference among cpus into consideration and total available credits won''t be a simple 300 * online cpu_number. ---- Of course there''re bunch of research areas to add more power factor into scheduler policy. But above is fundamental stuff which we believe would help scheduler understand power requirement and not incurs bad impact to performance/watt first. Comments are appreciated. Thanks, Ke...

[PATCH v3 5/6] powerpc/pseries: implement paravirt qspinlocks for SPLPAR
...[val] "ir" (val), [sat] "r" (sat) ); return tmp; } Another thing to try is, instead of threading that lockval throughout the thing, simply: #define _Q_LOCKED_VAL this_cpu_read_stable(cpu_sat) or combined with the above #define _Q_LOCKED_VAL adds(this_cpu_read_stable(cpu_number), 2) and see if the compiler really makes a mess of things.

Per-cpu patches on top of PDA stuff...
Hi Jeremy, all, Sorry this took so long, spent last week in Japan at OSDL conf then netconf. After several false starts, I ended up with a very simple implementation, which clashes significantly with your work since then 8(. I've pushed the patches anyway, but it's going to be significant work for me to re-merge them, so I wanted your feedback first. The first patch simply changes

[PATCH: server 0/3] Add host-register.rb (replaces host-browser.rb in part)
Removes node identification functionality from host-browser.rb and adds a new script, host-register.rb, that takes over that functionality. The chief difference is that host-browser used a simple TCP server setup to get data from the node, while host-register uses the qpid bus to do so. Specifically, it communicates with the matahari qmf agent added to the node in two related patchsets to node

x86: PIE support and option to extend KASLR randomization
These patches make the changes necessary to build the kernel as Position Independent Executable (PIE) on x86_64. A PIE kernel can be relocated below the top 2G of the virtual address space. It allows to optionally extend the KASLR randomization range from 1G to 3G. Thanks a lot to Ard Biesheuvel & Kees Cook on their feedback on compiler changes, PIE support and KASLR in general. Thanks to
