CPAN not working, or is it?

First, use cpanm instead of the old cpan shell:
$ sudo yum install perl-App-cpanminus
It has a number of advantages:
1. It?s much smarter about chasing dependencies, which is your core problem here.
2. It autoconfigures, not requiring all that outdated stuff about ?where is your FTP program,? ?what mirror s...

Since I'm the only other person to reply, I presume you mean something
I said, but I don't think I ever said they "cannot work together" - in
fact I said that personally, I use both RPM and CPAN and install into

If you mean that you do that manually, you don?t have to. The ?look? command in the cpan shell or the --look option to cpanm does that automatically.
That is, it unpacks the module and drops you into a sub-shell where you can work with the module manually.
Back when I still had to support CentOS 5, I?d occasionally have to do this to get some modules to build because they required local edits or configuration overrid...

Scrounged around with Google; found instructions for installing perl
modules using "cpanm".
Did
cpan App::cpanminus
and then
cpanm Module::Package
This seemed to install a plethora of Modules. I then tried
rpmbuild --rebuild perl-Unicode-EastAsianWidth-1.33-6.fc23.src.rpm
again, and got the same error messages as before. So perhaps (somehow)
my installation of perl module...

Rather than give you a lengthy discussion of how RPM building works and
hacking the R spec, let's focus on this question instead (I'm still
willing to show you RPM building if you'd like, because if

Load issues using AGI
Hi all,
we have just upgraded from Asterisk 11 to Asterisk 16.
After porting all the config to 16 we figured out some major load problems.
the majority running of our Asterisk instances is still having Asterisk 11
so we can compare load handling on both versions.
On the same hardware configuration we see load differences that Asterisk 16
takes four times the load as Asterisk 11 (on 11 we see

Perl DBI 1.52 on el6
Hello guys,
I was told by the client to install Perl DBI version 1.52 on a el6 box, by
default el6 branch comes with DBI version 1.6x, this version is AFAIK not
the desired one.
First I tried installing DBI 1.52 from some rpm package [1], which had some
dependencies, Perl 5.8.8 and dbd.4.4.x, this last package was also present
el6, so it made conflict and it was not possible to install DBI 1.52

Hi Peter,
Do you have any instructiions on how to do this? I realise it's far from
ideal, but I need to get this system working, and can do it on a stand alone
server.
