[bug report] Cyrillic letter "я" interrupts script execution via R source function

to sourcing some R scripts in UTF-8 encoding on Windows machines. For some
reason if the UTF-8 script is containing cyrillic letter *"?"*, the script
execution is interrupted directly on this letter (btw the same scripts are
sourcing fine when they are encoded in the systems CP1251 encoding).
Let's consider the following script that prints random russian words:

Postscript output encoding on Windows

default install of GhostScript/GSView (versions 8.51/4.7 respectively).
I didn't have this problem prior to upgrading to 2.3.1 as I can view all
my old PS graphs and they don't have the WinAsci encoding. I've got
around this problem by adding encoding="CP1251.enc" to the postscript
call but it seems a little bizarre that the default WinAsci wasn't
working.
Any ideas what the problem might be? A problem with Ghostscript, a bug
in R, or something strange about my installation (there shouldn't be)??
Should WinAsci be the default?

Dear R users,
I am running R version 2.10.0 (2009-10-26). I need to prepare an eps
graphic with a legend with cyrillic words. I tried setting the encoding
parameter of the postscript command, but in vain, nothing seems to work. I
tried with CP1251, KOI8-R, UTF-8 and Cyrillic (UTF-8 turned out to not be
available under /usr/lib/R/library/grDevices/enc). All I get is ????????
in the final inscription.
Has someone been successful in producing postscript legends with cyrillic
words and how? Is the encoding the only thing to be tweaked?

Multilingual application on Mac OS X
I have installed wine package from http://thisismyinter.net/?p=29 on Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard. It works, except this http://www.thediction.com/ program don't accept Bulgarian input.
I have successfully use it on Linux with "LANG=bg_BG.CP1251 wine Diction.exe", when that locale is installed. I don't know how to achieve this on Mac. "LANG=bg_BG.UTF8 wine Diction.exe" dos not work, either CrossOver-6.2.1-demo.

Cyrillic works "HALF"-good with wine

and I'm trying to run windows application (writted on Visual Fox Pro 9 )

Please help with Cyrilic fonts

I'm trying to get Rosetta Stone software working under Wine, and actually it seems fine, apart from one thing:
On the Russian language lessons, the font displayed is English-type, rather than Cyrillic. That's no good! It's working fine on my VirtualBox XP setup.
I have copied all the fonts from XP and Vista installations, to no good effect. I have also tried winetricks

Metadata in non UTF-8 encoding support (patch)

This patch allows icecast to encode metadata from
specified charset to UTF-8 for stats output and
using different charset for log output.
Variables to add to config (for example):
<icecast>

</logging>
</icecast>
libiconv is used to do conversion task.
It works for me on freebsd 6-stable and icecast 2.3.1.

MySQL data in Cyrillic displayed as question mark
I hope it is a simple question. Cyrillic (cp1251) text retrieved from
MySQL is displayed as question marks in Rails. Even worse, if you
update the database from the application, the Cyrillic text is
replaced with question marks too.
The local MySQL Administrator tool has no problem with displaying

smbmount codepage problem

So, it would appear that no matter what option I pass to smbmount, the
corresponding codepage module is never actually used. So, I am not sure
what to do next. I have tried with "cp437", "cp850", "cp852", "cp1250",
