Hi, i have two servers, connected to to the lan by 10Gb with 10Gb and DAS hardware raid. Each system con read and write locally or to the 10G iscsi by more than 200 MB/s. Now I have to transfer backups form A to B and doing this with rsync always stuck at +- 48-50MB/s no matter which options, compressions, encryption etc I use. cleanup after a small data loss on incorrect shutdown.
Hello. I am continuing my tests of BtrFS under a practical workload. Recently an incorrect poweroff (or maybe a small bug in BtrFS) caused a small data loss. The actual damage was non-existent. I used old branch, so maybe the relevant code is already improved. 1. Why btrfsck says "bad block" on that partition? What does it mean? My fist reaction was to use badblocks. It found no

change_sacl_perms() and ACLs from Solaris to 2.6 Linux
I've found an error: ACLs are not properly preserved when a file is moved from Solaris to a 2.6 Linux (I'm testing using CentOS 4 update 3 plus updates). This is using 2.6.8 built with the acl patch on both platforms. The file on the source Solaris machine: [truffle:/opt]# getfacl /xxx/x # file: /xxx/x # owner: root # group: other user::rw- user:httpd:r-x #effective:r--

Native libpq.so instead of libpq.dll?
Hello all, is it possible to use the native Linux libraries instead of their Windows builds? This can be a newbie question. :) I have a database program based on PostgreSQL and I think that coyping the Windows libraries for the application to run is a bit luxury when the same but native libraries with the same functions already exist for Linux and they are already installed on my system. I tried to create a symlink from /usr/lib/libpq.so to libpq.dll in the application's directory but it...

[PATCH 0 of 3 v2] PV-GRUB: add support for ext4 and btrfs
Hi, The following patches add support for ext4 and btrfs to PV-GRUB. These patches are taken nearly verbatim from those provided by Fedora and Gentoo. We''ve been using these patches for the PV-GRUB images available in EC2 for some time now with no problems. Changes from v1: - Makefile has been changed to check the exit code from patch - The btrfs patch has been rebased to apply
