...ems? See man wall and test the default. You will have to
compose a one line file, and name that file in order to send the
contents of that file to users.
Create that file:
echo "I need a fresh battery" >rplbat.
Then do wall rplbat
and get this on every screen on the system:
gene at coyote:~$ sudo wall rplbat
Broadcast Message from gene at coyo
(/dev/pts/2) at 18:56 ......

Flexibility in particular I think is what would make having a catchall
gui solution more difficult to achieve. Nothing comes quite as close to

Tinc GUI Frontend?
Tinc looks like a wonderful VPN tool, potentially a great alternative to
the zero-configuration Hamachi and similar services. Tunngle, NeoRouter,
Remobo and Comodo EasyVPN are also in the zero-configuration LAN VPN
category.
But none come close to the freedom, flexibility and security of Tinc. If
only Tinc had a GUI or even a command line configuration tool to
generate and manage the Tinc

Need the date included in nuts -wall msgs.
Greetings all;
Is it possible to set a logging option in one of the config files so that
when we have a 1 second power bump, the date is included, both in the
log, and in the -wall broadcast?
We apparently have a substation regulator in the process of failing, and
the recycle isn't normally slow enough to reset the clocks, but it
killing one of my computers w/o actually causing a reboot.
