Re: [virt-tools-list] [libvirt] Usability Enhancement: Import/Export VMs GUI
...the setup as easy as possible to expand the user base and to pull people away from proprietary hypervisors or fake opensource ones like VirtualBox. The initial import process with virsh commands puts off many newbies who lack the technical skills to get up and running. This is the single most coveted feature that comes up. It would be great if you guys can make it happen at GSoC :)

[CSL #351425] perfctr-enabled C5 kernel anyone?
...ith PAPI, which requires the perfctr patch applied to the kernel proper. Before I do that work here, I wanted to ask the list if anyone knows of a repo where such kernels are available? Also, if anyone has gone down this route and has helpful hints, perspectives, horror stories, etc., I would covet that information also. Cheers and Thanks, Dave Thompson UW-Madison Computer Sciences Department

Histogram Principal component analysis in R
Hi, I am trying to do a Principal component analysis on histogram data. Basically, I have a group of subjects and for each of them, I have a column of bin-counts (vis-a-vis intervals) and a corresponding column of frequencies (or normalized frequencies). The bin counts are the same for all the subjects. I also have a group-averaged histogram (with the same bin counts and a column of frequencies)

Expressions in --exclude-from file
Greetings -- I just downloaded and compiled rsync 2.6.4, which has the much-coveted --remove-sent-files option! Thank you for adding this feature. I use rsync -rutvn --exclude-from=nosync --remove-sent-files /ssa/TV/2005/ /tv1/2005/ to move files selectively to a storage computer, but I want to avoid including files that are currently being captured. When I include toda...

[PATCH RFC 3/3] vfio: add virtio pci quirk
...pparently nobody told ivshmem: http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/1af4/1110 Even the comment by virtio_pci_id_table[] suggests virtio is only a subset even if the code doesn't appear to honor that comment. R on netbooks et al?
Dear useRs, With the rise of netbooks and 'lifestyle laptops" I am tempted to get one of these to mainly run R on it. Processor power and hard disk space seem to be ok. What I wonder is the handling and feel with respect to R. Has anyone here installed or is running R on one of these, and if so, what is your experience? Would it be more of a nice looking gadget than a feasable platform

[PATCH RFC 0/3] virtio-pci: iommu support
This is an attempt to allow enabling IOMMU for DMA. Design: - new feature bit IOMMU_PLATFORM which means host won't bypass IOMMU - virtio core uses DMA API if it sees IOMMU_PLATFORM - add quirk for vfio to disable device unless IOMMU_PLATFORM is set or the no-iommu mode is enabled - while I'm not sure how it will be used, it seems like a good idea to also have
