Migration from Courier to dovecot
...cript[1], which works fine. However after running "courier-dovecot-migrate.pl" the Courier-Files still remain in the Maildir. Can i just delete those Courier-specific-files or does dovecot need them somehow (do you normally get rid of these after conversion)? It's about these files: courierimapacl courierimapsubscribed courierimapuiddb courierpop3dsizelist And those directories: courierimaphieracl courierimaphieracl Can i simply delete those with "find" ? Furthermore: is it possible to convert back from Dovecot-Format to Courier-Format? Thanks in advance, Werner [1] http://www....

Maildir migration: Courier-imap 4.4.3 to Dovecot 1.2.
...about http://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Courier ? For each courier Maildir account I want to use http://www.dovecot.org/tools/courier-dovecot-migrate.pl to produce dovecot-uidlist file mv courierimapsubscribed subscriptions sed sed -i 's/INBOX\.//' subscriptions rm -r courierimaphieracl rm courierimapacl rm courierimapkeywords I want also to leave default pop3_uidl_format (%08Xu%08Xv) in dovecot.conf Should I look into something else? Have I missed something? Best regards, Rafal.

...me, and then a sync immediately before going live will be quicker. Using imapsync [1] looks pretty good, and I'm happy to use that if it'll be "cleaner" or help Dovecot to create its hierarchy more neatly. Providing shared folders with multiple backend servers
...Thankfully users don't have the right to share their own folders, which makes things easier (I hope). Right now, the setup works like this, using Courier: - complete virtual mail setup - global shared folders configured in /etc/courier/shared/index - inside /home/shared-folder-name/Maildir/courierimapacl specific user get access to a folder - each folder a user has access is mapped to the namespace #shared like #shared.shared-folder-name Now, if I split my backend storage server into multiple ones and user-A is on server-1 and user-B is on server-2, but both need to access the same shared f...

courier2dovecot migration script
...'courierimapsubscribed' to 'subscriptions', and strip the 'INBOX.' prefix from its contents - recursively rename all of files of the name 'courierimapuiddb' to 'dovecot-uidlist' - recursively delete all of files of the name 'courierimaphieracl', 'courierimapacl' and 'courierimapkeywords' The script will also verbosely print out each action it does, handy for redirecting the output to a log file for a large migration. I hope people about to jump ship from Courier to Dovecot find this useful. If anyone comes up with improvements to the script,...
